Though "Hoosiers" is the all-time greatest basketball movie ever made, "White Men Can't Jump" is an easy second. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson have incredible chemistry in this movie as opponents, teammates, and friends. This is Rosie Perez's breakthrough movie (though she isn't really a star, she is quite funny). There are some classic scenes and some of the best trash-talking I've ever heard. The soundtrack is pretty awesome too.

White Men Can't Jump is one of the best sports movies I have ever watched. It's one of the best because it's not just a sports movie. The comedic timing, life situations, and great story telling make the film entertaining and intriguing for the entire run time. Snipes and Harrelson have great chemistry to pull of a classic performance.

Over the years there have a been a number of memorable white/black screen partners, perhaps the best of recent years being the pairing of Gibson and Glover for the Lethal Weapon series. Now add Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson to the list. In White Men Can't Jump they are basketball con-men who 'cheat' the predominantly black Californian teams out of their money. Problem is they do come unstuck and spend much of the film without rather than with money in their pockets. As a secondary storyline Rosie Perez plays Harrelson's girlfriend whose ambition is to get on the game show in which you tell them the question to their answer. She seems to think that she will win buckets of money and their financial troubles will be over. It's fast-paced, witty and well written by Ron Shelton, who also directs. White Men Can't Jump? Well, maybe, but like most things there are exceptions, and this is one of them.

I have heard people not loving this movie; it all comes down to expectations. Now, if you look for a entertainment, this is one of the best movies ever; even my Girlfriend, who's not crazy about basketball as I am, loved this movie. Additionally, I can tell you the choreography of the basketball is one of the best seen- better than Eddie or He Got Game, for instance. It is that good that it captured even people who doesn't usually watch Basketball (not just my girlfriend- I am speaking of football lovers as well...). So, what we have here? A movie that contains great B-Ball, funny script and reasonable Drama. Indeed, the plot is somewhat the weak part, but all in all it is one FUN movie. I have watched it more than 10 times, and laughed each time. Conclusion? go watch it!

I have seen this movie about 5 or 6 times and im still laughing every time i see it. snipes and Harrelson are very natural in their roles and they have some of the best lines that i have ever heard. This is not one of those typical lame hollywood comedies, no it aint because this movie is actually funny and in my opinion this was snipes best role so far he is made out for comedy not these typical action hero movies with a bad plot and alot of overacting.

Part of my teenage years. Love this movie. Funny .. thrilling.. clever.. Not the biggest basketball fan but was glued to this from start to finish .. seen it a billion time.

Why is this rated 6.2, this is a great film. The comedy between the black and white culture is hilarious. The black people not understanding why this only white person, a chump is so good at basketball, and on Wesley's discovery the fact he can make even more of a living from it is excellent. Which adds to the comedy aspect of the film, if you don't laugh at the film, you can always laugh at the clothes.
