I haven't seen acting this bad since my 3rd grade class play. And who wrote that ridiculously cobtrived dialogue? It is supposed to be a western but plays better as a comedy.

It is hard to believe any movie could have acting this bad. This movie is like a play or a low budget film festival production.

I am going to go against the grain a bit with this one. The principal actors and the director have a resume' that shows that most of them are experienced actors. Since I don't know about any of the actors, it looks to me that most of them are from the community theater and local area and that is not meant as a criticism. Everyone has to start somewhere and a good size number of the participants are off to a pretty good start in the acting profession. The seid, it could have been better but at least the town is an authentic western town that is a tourist location. It looks like it could have been shot on a studio location like the old westerns of TV golden age but it did not have the look of a studio production. Also the lady who was director has an impressive resume'. A little more money in the right places could have made a noticeable improvement. The writing was far better than I expected and this movie is chock full of red herrings like that murder mystery movies of the thirties and forties and a number of TV murder mystery productions. IOW it has a lot of twists and turns that I was not see coming until they happened. The greatest weak spot the fight scenes are not believable and the guns sound almost like cap pistols so I guess there is the area where they probably did not have the money to do better with. I hope the director and actors go on to great careers if they want to but these are no weekend and evening actors but are budding professionals. Good work everyone. This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie.

First, would the family members, girlfriends or whatever please STOP posting those 6 to 10 star reviews that claim it's one of the best westerns in 20 years and/or insinuating that the people who write bad reviews just aren't smart enough to get the plot. Really, you're just embarassing the people you're trying to help. The only good thing about this "movie" is that the next "adventure" teased after the credits will never get made. If it somehow does manage to get made, it can be used as definitive proof that God does not exist.

If you like westerns don't watch this, Its another one of those films that look like it was made by somebody who has never seen a real western. The actors were as wooden as pinochio,The guns sound like children's cap guns, the town looks like its just been made and the clothes are all clean and pressed even the Indian looks like he just walked out from the cleaners. The director must have been on lunch break when they filmed this one it was so unconvincing I watched it all the way through to review it and it killed me. I gave it 1 out of 10 because there is no 0

Acting is bad, like mostly everything else. I just can't hope more for having my money and time back... Oh, and lame story for sure, along with the script. They are nothing short of bad here. Just don't waste your time and money watching that movie. Don't know what to expect from a budget this low, surely it was my mistake in the first place.

This would have been a fairly good movie. If it would have ended with the solution of the murder mystery. But they had to add something else to end which was not necessary. Sometimes Directors and writers need to know when to end a movie.

It's difficult for anyone, even seasoned directors, to tackle the Western as a genre to test their abilities. Lana Read should be applauded for the effort but should be a lot more circumspect with the material they choose and the talent to carry it off. The Western has a history within the movie industry that stretches back a hundred years and has accumulated many casualties over the year's. It also numbers many successes and these stand proudly amongst some of the best films ever produced. High Noon, Shane and pale rider are just the tip of the very large pile. There are many many others. 'Western World' though is a very poor participant in such a competitive market. With the advantage of modern technology and computer graphics becoming the norm, audiences are becoming spoiled by these possibilities, however, simple can offer a refreshing alternative but there is a difference between simple and dull. Camera work and lighting are the cornerstone of good cinematic practice and 'Western World' suffers from poor aspects of the first and too much contrast of the other. Storyline and sets are another aspect that are critical to any films success and these are also poorly rendered. The most critical aspect of all though is acting and this is where any film will fail within the first few minutes of watching. In some cases this can happen in seconds. Making any film can be agonising for all those concerned but this pain should never be transferred to the public. I think Ms Read should look again at some of the great films and try to decide what really makes them stand alone.

It was painful watching this movie. I have seen community and high school plays with better acting than in this movie. The delivery of lines and timing was so awful. Lighting was horrible. I stopped watching about 10 minutes into the movie and forced myself to go back and finish watching it, hoping to at least see some nice scenery. I was sorely disappointed. The opening scene with the new marshal had poor lighting. The brim of his hat was so low you could not see his eyes. The poor lighting continued throughout the movie. It was so difficult to get into the movie, because of the awkward delivery of every single line, that the plot simply didn't matter. I can not ,in any way, fully describe how poor the acting was. There awkward pauses between poorly delivered lines. Hand and body gestures that should emphasize the lines were so ill timed. Just so hard to describe. Painful, just painful. I am grateful I didn't pay to see this movie. Only props I can honestly give is to who ever designed the movie poster.

When a man is shot in Dogwood Pass, the Marshall is called in to escort the suspect to Laramie. During this time, the Marshall plays Agatha Christie and uncovers the town's dirty secrets. The production was filmed at a tourist attraction near Beaver, Ohio, a great place to take the kids. The script and dialogue were very bad. The "twist" has been done recently in another film and maybe in a dozen more before that. There are attempts at humor that lack delivery. I was surprised that these were actual film actors and not re-enactor rejects who couldn't fake a bad Elizabethan accent. The film at times was laughable, i.e. "so bad it was good." Low budget, low entertainment. Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.
