This starts off well enough. There are some choppy edits, but the production, set predominantly on a train, looks good, with attention to period detail, and some fine performances. Sadly despite all this, it soon becomes a confusing, rather dull mess. I'm sorry to say this, because there are some good moments, and things definitely liven up when Lance Henrikson arrives. The effects are decent, and it seems there is a message amidst everything that is going on, although I'm beggered if I know what it is. My score is 5 out of 10.

Interesting premise, but let down but high school level editing. It's so bad it's distracting. Some decent performances

Screen play by "BUBBA FISH" - Cmon you are kidding me right? Says it all really - stop reading and find another movie to rent! I dont know why Tony Todd has such a good reputation and everyone always says "oh Tony Todd is in it so i had good expectations" like the first reviewer on here - most of his films have been utter pants as he overacts and uses his voice primarily to act. Yeah he did a coupla good films like Candyman and Final Destination and even then he just did his usual deep voice, menacing performance so he isn't exactly Laurence Olivier. Whenever I see Lance Henriksen, Tony Todd, Ron Perlman, John Cusack and sadly now Nick Cage I know the movie is not going to be of stellar origins! Sadly though as most of them were good in their time! Indeed his overacting is hilarious especially in the scene where he is searching for the girl and although the film is utter pants its worth it to watch how bad it can get. Poor old Lance Henriksen who is a great actor is in the same league now as he just appears to take the cheque and run and every single film he has been in after Aliens has been utter tosh. Such a shame as he really is a good actor! Watch out for all the borrows from other movies - Can you spot the movies? Well first we had a laugh at is the music when it lurches into "A FISTFUL OF DYNAMITE" score when the girl is blowing everyone away with the shotgun - Whoever composed the music and decided it fitted the scenes needs a good slap upside the head as they say in the USA. Go on if you are a movie buff you will recognise the music style instantly. Then we have the Tales From The Crypt storyline. I could go on but have fun for yourself. Having said all that bumph it does have its moments of nasty gore which will surely satisfy any gorehound desperate to see a woman raped and her face ripped off and a mask inserted in its place or a scalping with a rusty bread knife - one of the more tame of the kills! Hey, you even get to hear the "N" word used by a white person lol It would be better if you have smoked a "J" before you watch this to anaesthetize yourself to the mundanity and obvious BLM pandering of it all. Having just watched the credits roll I must sday that is the quickest credits roll at the end of a movie I think I have ever seen - Less than a minute - worth it just to watch it to fast forward and see the end credits I reckon lol

Let me just say that I loved this movie. I knew going into it that it was't going to be a well funded SFX nightmare. As a matter of fact, I had to change my perspective of it 5 minutes into it. I realized that it was more like a stage play. Once I realized that, I really got into it. You had a lot of angry and hurt people stuck on a train together. They had to set the tone immediately and they did. They established the atmosphere the old fashioned way with lighting and ominous foreshadowing. They did an excellent job developing the characters. You understood where they were coming from and what was ahead. It was worth the purchase and I have no regrets. My nieces loved it too. They're 12 and they said it reminds them of a ghost story. It reminded me so much of a few productions I've seen over the years. If you like films that aren't all about SFX and that focus on character development then this is a good one. I highly recommend viewing it for what it is. I can't fairly review this based on blockbuster standards. It's not that type of film.

Oh, what can i say without spoiling anything. well i'm not overexcited, though the propmakers have done their job, the story could have been written on a paper napkin, the yellow glow staight through the movie, could make you think its a gold rush movie, but its all about revenge and avenge between the good the bad the ugly and the devil and so on made as haunting as my empty wallet. there are no new angels of filmmaking to find in this feature , and as long as the movie consists of two or three locations, it bears all the signs of low budget.....i cant give less than 2 stars for this chattanooga choo choo tale
