I Found This Pretty Good! WW2 Soldiers Go Into a Forest and Encounter Witches.
Yeah...it has a decent budget feel. It's about hardened soldiers in WW2 encountering witches.
If anyone ever seen the Devil's Rock or Frankenstein's Army and liked it, give this a shot.
Could it be better yes.....
Is it entertaining yes...
Is it boring...NO!
8 out of 10 for me.

What do you get if you combine a film about searching for something precious during world war 2& an unknown enemy that hunts down soldiers like the Predator? Pretty much this film is the answer!
It reminds me of overlord which was surprisingly a good film. This on the other hand is not. It has many of the great elements requires to make a good film but it's let down by the execution & disjointed scripts. It uses cliches IE the cynical sergeant that experiences a strange occurrence but refuses to open his mind to the possibility that it is something they have not trained for & the protagonist that knows more than he lets on.

Ok let's not bother to talk about why people are way off base and just cut to the chase. Film has a very spooky setting the atmosphere seemed like a haunted forest the special effects were excellent and the story was actually easy for us to follow and trust me I'm no rocket scientist. The only flaws is the climax was to dark but we went with it and LOVED the ending. Mickey Rourke looks EXACTLY like Michael Meyers with his mask even the hair is exact not being mean just honest. Ignore the ridiculous 4.2 rating it's at least a 6 I'm giving it an 8 because I'm hoping I get a few people to watch it as my wife and I enjoyed it we seem to be liking polish backed horror films lately...go figure... would like to see a sequel!!

This movie is nothing more than a lame and boring b-movie. Its not a war movie and its certainly not a horror movie. Its bad acting, bad costumes, bad directing, stupid plot and stupid script. A group og american soldiers go behind german lines in a forest.
A US military cargo plane loses control and crashes behind enemy lines in the middle of the German black forest. They soon discover hanged Nazi soldiers and is attacked by a powerful, supernatural force, disquised as solen?? Stupid plot. And not well executed. Mickey Rourke has made great films like The Wrestler, Sin City and Angel Heart. And now he is in this crap??? Why??
Avoid this sh.. and dont waste your time. Just look at the IMDb score and the score on Google. Its utter crap.

This movie is not scary, it's not interesting, but is most certainly lost time.
Either Mickey owed someone a favor and they called it in, or he felt sympathy for someone involved and jumped in hoping he could help them recover their lo$$.
Waste of time - you'd be better off locating The Devil's Rock and burning your time watching that one.

A lot of people think this film isn't good. As for me, it's watchable. It's dark and a bit nonsense, but it isn't that bad. The only bad thing about this film is the ending. Everything is okay except the ending. Why on earth did they make an ending like that? If it didn't end in that way, I might have given 7 or 8 stars because I enjoyed it even though it really seemed like a low budget film.

This movie suffers from a terminal case of Pointless Nazis Syndrome: the guys in black appear in the movie for no real reason (well, they're a bait for more public) and the plot would have worked fine without them. Actually, the movie could have been set in whatever historical context and it would have still worked because it's basically The Blair Witch Project with more fighting.
Rourke makes a small cameo and the whole thing is practically shot in the dark. I had to squint many times to see something.

Felt very much like a made for TV film. The FX were pretty naff CGI, Didn't really potray any kind of dark foreboding. The kind of thing you would find on a second rate horror channel.

No pun intended and almost meant literally. But let's not get off track from the start (or is it the right track? Ok I'll stop). This is about American soldiers in WW2 - but one that includes something I would call Science Fiction. And definitely not a history lesson at all.
Interesting to see Robert Knepper in a more ... let's call it moderate role. And even Mickey Rourke can convince - even if you are still not entirely 100% on board with some of his movie choices. The movie does look good enough (visually) and has decent effects, with a decent story to tell. Budget constraints included or at least taken into account for.
If you can suspend your disbelief and not overthink what is happening (or actions taken or not by the soldiers), you can have some fun here.

I used to think anything below 5 rating i would give it a pass and anything 6 and above is great for a horror movie.
Quite impressed with the storyline and the only reason catching this movie was basically rouke and the guy that played a prisoner in a drama series sometime back.
Special effects and make up artist scored super well if you asked me. Anyway always great to find an underdog movie that works well.
My 1st review.
