I liked virus. It was different than any other horror film/sci fi films. It has lots of gore,and sci fi action. The creature looked pretty cool in the movie. The movie was only 94 minutes long but seemed like 2 hours long. But over all i recommend this flick.

Nothing great, nothing awful. As always, if there is an African American guy in a scary movie, it's a BGD - black guy dies.

It takes talent to create a movie as bad as this: There are good actors, a somewhat original idea for a movie and good special effects - one would expect something good out of this. Yet here comes "Virus" to prove us wrong. How did Gale-Anne Hurd produce this? Why was it ever made in the first place? Now let's pray that they don't make a sequel... Rating: 1 out of 10

I waited for this film to come out on video because I didn't think it was worth spending a few bucks at the theatre. I was right too, this film wasn't bad.but it also wasn't that good. Actually, kind of retarded. Curtis was alright in this film, Baldwin was good, Sutherland tended to get on my nerves but I like seeing him as a mean man. The other characters I didn't like too much to get into the movie. All in all this film wasn't that good, so wait for it to come out on HBO or something.

The Virus (1999) is currently available on Tubi. The storyline follows a tug boat that comes across an empty vessel. They feel they can claim the vessel because no one is on it; little do they know life like they've never seen remains onboard with a goal to keep the boat empty. This movie is directed by John Bruno (Heavy Metal) and stars Jaime Lee Curts (Halloween), Donald Sutherland (Invasion of the Body Snatcher), William Baldwin (Sliver) and Cliff Curtis (Doctor Sleep). The storyline for this was very uneven. They did a good job of making you feel the characters were trapped and had limited options...but the "villain" seems like some bad mix of Aliens and Batteries not Included. I can't say it worked for me. Sutherland played a great ruthless tugboat captain and Curtis and Baldwin were solid in their roles as well, but not solid enough to over come this painful plot and delivery. I'd score this a 4/10 and recommend seeing it once with appropriate expectations going in.

Saw this on TV a few days ago. I don't know what was edited out, so I can only say so much, but I must say that the special effects and makeup effects were awesome! The main, cybernetic nemesis (while a tad blue-screenish) was menacing to the very end. And some of the sets were very richly-detailed. $75,000,000 to make? I can believe it. Now, that being said, there still were some flaws in this movie - mainly, the dialogue and acting. While not terrible, these elements could stand some work. Had they been brushed up, this movie would have been so much better than it was. But as is, it's not that bad. My Grade: B

Of all the spawn of the Alien/Predator wave, this must be the worst. I can only assume it's supposed to be a satire, because it's not scary, but neither is it funny, just corny and boring. Stars Billy Baldwin, so what can you expect, and Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Sutherland also pick up paychecks to lend box office appeal.

This movie is awesome good special effects and sound jamie lee curtis did great i love the robot design man I just love everything about this movie I think it is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made if this doesnt entertain audiences i dont know what can.

I don't see why people hate this movie? Personally, I liked the whole taking-peoples-flesh-and-put-it-on-robots thing. And the cast were excellent, when it came to the more frenetic scenes. The only thing that was bad about the movie, was when the captain willingly makes himself a robot/dead guy. He didn't put up much of a fight, and because he for some reason removed his legs, his walking capabilities were kinda non-existent. But overall... A good movie, which were put in my collection right away. 8 out of 10
