The huge success of "Scream" in 1996 enabled to launch a new trend in the horror movie. This trend is based on a so-far peaceful universe but destroyed by the arrival of a disruptive element which is epitomized by a serial-killer. I would also add that since "Scream" and another "I know what you did last summer", anything goes to shot horror movies whose topic deals with a serial-killer. Here, Saint Valentine's day is used as a pretext to shot a new opus with the quoted topic. The result gives a movie that barely shines by the originality of the directing, the paucity of the script, the impression of "déjà-vu" in several moments (murders). "Valentine" brings nothing new to an already threadbare topic. You may skip this movie without remorse.

I thought that Valentine was a great slasher film. The story line was good and the acting was great. Although I think there should have been a bigger chase at the end with Kate and Adam, it was perfect. Denise Richards plays Paige Prescott, a bitch, and she does a great act at it. It was just a good movie. The special effects were good and all. Go see this movie. It has a great soundtrack that flows through with the movie. This isn't one of those movies who drift into something else. It sticks with the plot of the story and makes you scared. It makes you think twice about being alone on Valentine's Day. I think there should be more movies out there like this one. It was really good. Marley Shelton, Denise Richards, and Katherine Heigl really light up the screen in this one.

I really enjoyed this thriller! I wanted to see it again as soon as it was over. The cast was excellent, the plot was suspenseful and entertaining, and it was just an overall enjoyable movie! I would rate this as one of the best thrillers I've ever seen! The girls in it were really cute also, especially Denise Richards. She was very ornery throughout the movie and gave her character some OOMPH!

This movie is so bad that it couldn't have been written by anyone with a sixth grade education. It was a total waste of resources to produce this thing. There is so much bad about the technical facts that 1,000 words would barely begin to note all of them. Read a book and use this tape for stuffing the trash bag.

A pretty weak slasher flick, which I only really saw as I like both Denise Richards and David Boreanaz. The acting isn't as bad as some say, but it's nothing special. The thing that really brings it down are the boring clichés and ludicrous plot. SPOILER As an example of the holes in it towards the end the blonde girl finds the murdered cop. Now she has her own mobile phone that she was trying to call him on, and we see her pick up the cop's mobile as well just before she finds his body. So what does she do with two mobile phones? Why she runs inside the house to try to call the police on the land line, which is of course cut, and decides to wonder about the house on her own when she knows the murderer is there as well.

i went to see this movie yesterday and everyone was telling me that it really sucked and it was corny. well after seeing the movie i thought to myself what the hell were they talking about this movie kicks ass. The death scenes were cool and the acting was good for a slasher movie, and i loved the atmosphere. i have noticed that the people that told me that the movie sucked were people that didn't really care for horror movies, so if you fan of the genre(like myself) then you should go see this film, don't listen to anybody that tells you that this film sucks because that is their opinion, go see it for yourself and see what you think of it. the cupid/cherub mask that the killer wears is cool. I definately hope there will be another part comin out soon. well another movie to add to my collection. :P

A Nice Movie. Pretty Scary for such a Recent Movie. It also Delivers a lot "Creative" Death Scenes too Many Movie these Days lack. I Mostly Like 80's Films, but this one really appealed to me. It's also a Nice "Masked Killer Movie" that keeps you on the case trying to Find out Who Did it and Why. Why Did the Critics Dump this Film? I Sure as Heck Don't Know, and Frankly Don't Care. I Love this Film and that's all that matters!!!!

I really liked this movie. All my friends said that this movie was really stupid. But I decited to watch it anyway. I really liked this movie. I know its just another slasher movie but not too many movies that I know of has the theme of valentines day. I mean The killer has a valentine mask and kills people on valentines day. Some murders were really awesome and some were ok. I really liked the ending. Over all I'd like to wath this movie again. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good horror movie.

Even better than the whole Scream trilogy combined and in only one film. The story is awesome. At a Valentine Day's party, a boy is beaten up and 13 years later, he comes back to haunt the girls who were involved. The killer who hunts them down is real awesome. There are plenty of awesome killing scenes with a load of suspense, gore, and scary scenes where you don't know what is going to jump out at you. Plus a top-notch performance by David Boreanaz which I would definitely give him a best actor nomination for 2001. The ending is without a doubt the best ending ever made in a movie. Just finding out who the killer was, was one hell of a twist then your given another hell of a twist right at the end. Thank god this came out especially after the first two crappy thrillers made for 2001, "The Pledge" (**) and "The Gift" (*1/2). But we still have another thriller for 2001, "Hannibal" (not yet rated), and it will be interesting to see how it does against "Valentine". ****
