I watched it some months ago and now I have watched it like 9183929392 times. And I can't stop listening to the osts in Spotify. Something abt the story, the cast and the music makes me want to watch the film whenever I feel down. Hats off to the whole team!!!! Excellent performances from both the leads. Wanna see them together in some series in future. Their chemistry is out of this world. Why noone is casting them together? :(( And because of this movie I kinda started loving EDM songs which I used to skip before. I want a season 2 of this movie with the same cast where both leads meet and talk abt their lives once again.

Upcoming summer is a very sweet coming of age film that was marketed as a teen romance film in China and thus let many moviegoers down. This is definitely not a romance (nor could it ever be one) but the story of two young adults trying to be braver and better. And by the end, they manage to do exactly that, even if they have to suffer to get there. Special congratulations to the two leads, they are both full of youth, full of wonder, a breath of fresh air; for 90 minutes they reminded me of how glorious it is to be that age and have your whole life in front of you. So watch this film but remember: no romance!

Not just another 'crush meets heartbreak' romance drama but also nice coming-of-age story. Unfortunately Leste Chen had to compromise his LGBT vision for Chinese market. Zhang & Wu made endearing chemistry together to deal with their own lies and truths.

After watching 'Everything Everything' I was so relieved cause I could see some 'grown-ups' out there understands young people and have really tried to say "Hey, I've been there before and it's really ok not to be ok sometimes" through their stories... not pretending to have been perfect. It feels so refreshing get such feelings again after watching 'Upcoming'

A good movie is a movie that would made you get carried away by the feelings of the protagonists. This movie is that kind of movie. You would laughed with Chen Chen and Zheng Yu Xing, you would made silly jokes with them and you would also cried with them. The characters development was excellent, the setting was believable and the story was relatable. This is how coming of age movies should be made. And this is the best coming of age movies from Mainland China that I saw until now. You won't regret see this movie. Definitely 9/10.
