Absolutely nonsense third class movie. I bet you have not seen anything more stupid than this ever.

Jack Luskey (Ben Getz) discovers he is a werewolf when he is 18, the hard way. It is a family thing. He goes to the cabin in the woods with his two friends, Brandon (Zack Weiner) a virginal geek and Turner (Kyle Kirkpatrick) your basic misogynist teen male.
Jack has no control when he turns into a werewolf several nights in a row. This makes for an awkward vacation.
The special effects are saved toward the end. There is only a little blood and gore. Plot and acting are okay for a "B" film. Film utilizes a few "Creepshow" style graphics. They drink Johnnie Walker Blue scotch...a nice touch.
Guide: F-bomb, brief sex, male butt nudity. Drawn nudity.

I liked this movie for the most part; The acting was better than most B-movies. The opening scene was really bad and should have been left on the cutting room floor. I noticed a lot of editing scenes in just for filler. I would have enjoyed the movie if the werewolf looked better. This werewolf looked worse than MTV's 'Teen Wolf'. I mean look back 40 years and you'll see scarier creatures than this thing.

The cover and the idea of the story for 'Uncaged' were not bad, the cover looked pretty creepy actually and while unoriginal the story's idea intrigued. Having seen my fair share recently of bad low-budget films and decent ideas executed badly in film, part of me was also nervous.
Nervousness that sadly was proven to be justified. There may be worse films out there than 'Uncaged', but it is definitely among the worst recent viewings for me and a very good example of how not to do a low-budget/B film. This is not coming from someone narrow-minded or wanting to hate everything, actually aim to be a fair reviewer and it actually takes a lot for me to give a low rating to a film and be negative. Giving something the lowest possible rating is not a regularly used one these days, but 'Uncaged' is for me one of the deserved recent recipients.
'Uncaged's' good potential ends with the story concept. It is an example of a film that starts poorly, with the "trying to be clever but in reality looks cheap and a visual eyesore" photography and editing rendering the opening not just confusing but incomprehensible. Unfortunately, this confusion doesn't go away and even increases with the jumpy structure and so many things left incomplete and vague.
On top of being confused, the story is also very erratic in pace. At some points it feels rushed. At other points it's tedious, that would have been improved if some of the content that was unnecessary and there for padding purposes was trimmed or cut. Nothing's fun or interesting and tension and suspense are nowhere in sight, instead it's all those things and a lot of parts, especially the character behaviours, are far-fetched, stupid and illogical. The script is awkward and never rings true, with a lot of ridiculousness and unintentional humour.
Couldn't get invested with any of the characters, because of the lack of development or drama and because they are just so annoying and incapable of rational or intelligent thought, and the direction is barely existent. The acting is really bad at best, the main protagonist tries but the antagonist is too over-the-top and the female lead is cringe-worthy.
It's not just the photography and editing in the opening that looks poor visually. Those elements are not much better throughout, and there is a drab, over-dark look. Standing out too in a not-good way is one of the worst-looking werewolves ever, even for low-budget there is no excuse for anything to look like something that would have looked awful 50 years ago. Audio is over-bearing and ruins any atmosphere by telegraphing it in advance.
To conclude, even for someone judging it for what it is 'Uncaged' was just a complete waste of time. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Garbage, probably but I really won't know because they lost me at the opening line. Any movie with an opening line of "she was thirsting for my *" has nowhere to go but into the crapper. So no, I did not watch the movie. I turned it off right after hearing that line (which was in fact the first line of dialog in the movie).
I don't have high expectations, I'm not expecting another "Twelve Angry Men", I just want to watch a thriller, horror movie that tries to bring something new to the genre. This may be it, but I'll never know because the idiot that decided what the opening scene and dialog would be was too lame to realize that his choice sucked. Some won't care, some might think it's cool, but I was totally turned off. To the people involved in this grade Z production - get your selves sorted out. This is crap.

I could literally go on and on about the characters being horrifically written. I want to. But I won't. If you have a deep well of patience, you'll be fine with this movie. If you are not planning to pay attention, you'll be fine with this movie. But otherwise... The characterization is just a huge problem. I have many other nitpicky issues, but this is such a big one that I think that's all that needs to be said (well, this and the major PLOT issues; how is one movie so bad??). Throughout the movie, the characters constantly throw me off with their bizarre behavior--and not in a good way. Barring the characterization, the movie is watchable, but unfortunately, a movie is nothing without its characters.

First of all this is a B-movie. Nothing wrong with that because there are tons of good B-movies. Sometimes it's not necessarily a big budget that makes a great movie. There are plenty of examples of good movies made with a tight budget. Uncaged starts promising but the more you get into the story the clearly it gets that this is going to be a waste of your time. Well at least it was for me. The acting isn't great at all, not the worst but not good enough. The storyline gets worse the more the movie progresses. The special effects are close to non-existent, but that I could live with since it is a low budget movie. It's just the bad script that brings this movie down. Don't waste your time on this one.

For a 'no-budget film', this was actually far better than I was expecting. The acting was good, but not stellar. The premise, while not fresh, was handled well. And for the small budget this film would have had, it was done well. That being said, I have three issues with the film.
The main issue is with the reactions of the characters. Jake has one blackout episode and immediately assumes he is a werewolf. Jake tells his cousin, Brandon, that he is a werewolf and Brandon says "okay' and just takes it at face value. Jake sees his cousin laying on the floor of the garage and covers his crotch before he goes to check on him and keeps it covered the entire time his cousin is dying. Rose asks Jake to kill her husband, Gonzo, and he says sure and just goes with it. Rose watches Jake dispatch Gonzo and his two henchmen and continues over to Jake's house for safety. Jake's uncle invites him to his cabin to see if he has the werewolf gene and then disappears instead of helping the kid. When Turner finds the GoPro case with blood on it, he automatically assumes something nefarious had happened.
If someone blacked out and woke up naked somewhere else, normal people would not automatically assume they are a werewolf. If someone said they were a werewolf, normal people would laugh and take it as a joke until they proved otherwise. If a person woke up to see their cousin laying dead or dying on the floor, the last thing on their mind would be to hide their twigs and berries before rushing to his aide and then keeping them covered while that cousin died. If someone asked a person to kill their spouse, normal people would go to the police or, at the least, bow out and keep their distance from that person. If anyone watched a person change into a werewolf and dispatch three men, the last place they would go to for safety would be the werewolf's house. If the uncle was truly concerned about Jake having the gene, he would have stuck around and helped him out, not left him hanging in the wind. And if Turner was such a great friend, he would look to a nose bleed, a cut on Jake's hand or some such, before going to murderer as an explanation for the blood. Plain and simple, these people do not react the way normal people would react.
The second big issue is with the transformation Jake goes through. The first two times he blacks out, he wakes up completely naked. The final time, he remains in his clothes and they are still on him the next morning, without being ripped up. How do they get ripped to shreds twice and then remain intact the final time?
The final issue is with the side stories in the film. The story lines with Gonzo the drug-dealer, Kyle and Crystal, and Rose's dog, muddle the story instead of adding to it. They could have edited those down or out completely and had a much better film.
