Lets be honest. It's an asylum movie so what did you expect?
Bad effects? Check.
Bad dialogue? Check.
Bad plot? I would say the plot was... interestingly bad.
It's a good comedy.
The most fun part to me is that the name has nothing to do with the movie other that they put some fighter jet scenes to scam people that it is the new Tom Cruise movie.
I have seen worse.

I was scammed like many others that's it's top gun but horrible waste of time. Don't watch and don't waste time... it's pure junk. I consider myself pro and I fell for this scam and wonder how many ppl will be trapped into this.

In the 2020 one, at list it was some kind of movie star (Eric Roberts). In the second (2022) only the effects were some kind, so consider to try another action movie, even without the name "Top Gun-ner"! :)

I could create the minimum content with the phrase "oh boy", but I won't do that to you. To start with, it's from The Asylum team. That should let you know where your expectations should sit. I've gone for 4 stars for this effort, with a cast from the Academy of Bad Actors you will find yourself thinking if they knew what movie they were going to be in. Some overacting and bad camera work made it cringe. Another actor looked like they were hoping it starred Ron Jeremy.
The movie itself is obviously a rip off of a few movies like Top Gun, Stealth and Airplane. It is somewhat watchable but crap (and I've just hit the minimum length requirement). I would recommend it, however, only if you have nothing else to do and need some screen imagery to fill out an hour and 25 minutes.

The airplane is in the outside a 707 but in the inside is a smaller plane. The pilot cabin is of a small plane, first class is right behind the cabin, while in a 707 is in the upper floor of the plane.

I saw this title at Walmart and was immediately draw to how goofy the plot sounded. Instead of directly copying Top Gun, it would at least be a sort of impending disaster/action movie. Being my first Asylum film I had low expectations, but it was okay. Not drastically boring, a fair deal of the acting wasn't terrible, and the plot generally made sense despite some weird twists and lots of nonsensical details. But I was very surprised that as many of the aviation-related details were huge misses, there were some relatively good ones thrown in. Despite the flight deck being wrong for the plane shown externally, they obviously got access to a full 737 simulator and used elements of it somewhat well, even if it wasn't always correct. The random shot of an Airbus throttle quadrant near the end had me rolling though, it's like they threw that in to see who's been paying attention or the editor grabbed a stock clip without even watching it.
For something to sit and watch seriously to get invested, it's a pass. But for a movie to not take too seriously and just have a good time watching with friends it's alright. I do have to pull one star because of the blatant rip-off. Just from this, I feel like Asylum could have potential if they stopped leaning so hard into mockbusters. Sinking a little more time and talent info visual fx, and getting writing consultants to help story flow could help make for better movies since they're obviously having a good time making these.

Well, with another brilliant release from The Asylum, you know pretty much what you are in for here. Yup, another mockbuster cashing in on the potent success of another blockbuster. And this time it is, well, isn't pretty obvious with a title like "Top Gunner: Danger Zone"?
Right, well I was expecting "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" to be a movie about brash fighter pilots doing reckless things in high altitudes and at high speeds. Yeah, that is what the movie's title would imply. But lo and behold, writer Marc Gottlieb opted to go a wholly different direction here with his script and storyline for "Top Gunner: Danger Zone". Yeah. Instead of high altitude and high speed, we have an action thriller about an explosive device on a commercial airliner.
Talk about not meeting the expectations here.
If you look aside from the movie's horrible title and the thing it is meant to cash in upon, and look at "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" as an action thriller with an airliner carrying an explosive device, then the movie isn't actually all that bad.
Of the entire cast ensemble, then I was only familiar with Michael Paré here. I will say, though, that the cast in the movie were actually putting on good performances in bringing their characters and the story to life on the screen.
Visually then "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" was actually surprisingly good, for a production from The Asylum. Just goes to prove that every now and again then The Asylum does up their game and strap up and deliver something worthwhile.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with "Top Gunner: Danger Zone", because it wasn't the lousy mockbuster that I was expecting it to be from the very moment of seeing The Asylum's name appear on the screen. However, this is hardly a movie that I will return to watch a second time.
My rating of "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" lands on a five out of ten stars.

2 films for the price of 1! Hilarious when the bomb disposal passenger suddenly becomes dressed like he's ready for masterchef and Bravo to the pilot of a 747 outmaneuvering a MIG. I was on the edge of my seat from the first scene and it flows effortlessly throughout. Film is so believable its unreal. Can't wait for the next installment. Oscars and BAFTAS incoming surely.
