Why is the rating of this movie so bad? This movie is amazing. The time exploration is very relevant. The character development is excellent. And the title is perfect. Please help raise the rating so that it is at least equal to "Your Name." Don't judge just because you don't like time travelers. Please, everyone, watch this movie; I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I don't know why its rating is bad, but believe me, this movie is definitely worth watching. And this is a continuation of the first movie. You must watch the first movie because it greatly influences this one. This is a very good time-travel anime film after Steins;Gate.

If you don't know, this movie and "To The Solitary Me That Loved You" are heavily connected, so make sure to watch both at whichever order you feel like. But personally, i suggest watching this last. Spoiler warning (for both movies): Glad I watched this last. It was just so satisfying to see how all the mess from the other movie's (and other world's) koyomi was wrapped up at the end and how both he, kazune, and shiori were at least happy in one world. While the other movie was filled with an atmosphere of distraughtness and panic, this one was more peaceful, although sad at some points, but it filled every gap in our hearts that the other movies has created. It was the happy ending we were patiently waiting for throughout the entirety of the other movie, which was confusing, especially with its ending, but after watching this, it feels like I don't have any questions. Everything was answered and in the way i wanted it to be. Watching it the other way around doesn't even feel like a real option if i'm being honest, it would be rather disappointing and pointless, but to each his own.

I specially made an exception for this masterpiece. I Really don't know what to say. This is not a tragic or anything mind blowing (Like eat pancrease), I asure you that you will not weep, however this did stir up some emotions in me, and I realised it by the end. This is a slow pacing movie, but please go through the trouble of watching it. You may find it confusing due to some technical points but you don't really need to stress about it, just understand the core theme and you will be set. In general I think anime has 2 genres, 1 the series, like - naruto, AOT, Demon slayer, where the writes have lot of ground to play on, but movies have time restictions, which is sometime good and bad, good as in no/little time is wasted and they generally do link with the real life moment/emotions. Lot more to say but con't find words. Just watch it.

If you don't know yet, there is a sister movie called "To Me, The One Who Loved You" which released on the same day as this one in Japan. I will watch that one next and edit this review after that. Why? Because, as a standalone movie, I didn't get much from this one alone. It was thought-provoking, and touching at times, but above all else: confusing and leading nowhere. It really felt like I was watching a sequel or spin off, because there was just SOME information missing to make what was happening on the screen (especially after the first half) make any sense. My guess is that you have to watch both movies back-to-back. I will update you guys after I have done so :) As off now: not recommended to anyone except people who enjoy a philosophical essay about future technological advancement. Because that was all the movie could be for me.
