The movie have some plot holes regarding the time travel system. Besides that, it's really nice, with many characteristics from a 90's movie.

Don't ask me why, but this is my favourite film of all-time. The story is excellent, as is Jean-Claude's acting. I've always been interested in what would happen if you had a made a different choice in certain situations, this film tackles that brilliantly. What more can I say - EXCELLENT!!!

I do not agree that those two scenes make some sort of *. Neither do make they problem to young fans. It is pretty mild nudity/romantic and are no problem for everybody. I personally watched it with my two teenager boys and did not find any "shame". Only narrow-minded puritans find that little amount of nudity/sexuality as "PORN" and harmful. (Are there any open-minded puritans? Rhetoric question). Other then arguing with other comments, I can provide some arguments for this movie. First of all, this is very nicely done plot. Secondly, very good acting. Thirdly, wonderful final. Fourthly, very good action scenes. Fifth,...

OK, I have to confess two bias at the start of this review. First, I love time-travel movies. I always like to see the interactions/reactions of people out of their element. At the same time, I hate Ron Silver. I hate his politics and I love it when he gets what he deserves in the movies. Thatsaid, this movie has both - time travel and Ron Silver getting it. What more could I ask for. It's a typical Van Damme in the respect that he still can't act his way out of a wet Kleenex without benefit of a katyusha rocket. It is even worse that he plays a sappy role as a loving husband who mourns for his wife who was killed 10 years ago and he wishes he could break the rules and go back and save her. That is basically what the movie is about. While he agonizes over this, the evil Senator (Silver) is planning to go back and rig the elections. Is that what Karl Rove did? Hmmm? Director Peter Hyams keeps the story moving and seems to cut away just when things start to get a little unbelievable.

Seen this in the cinema when I was 21, just watched again after seeing numerous times and still a cut above anything that the likes of peele or other 'modern time' film makers can do. You see the problem I have with let's say as a comparison the Adam project, this has charisma and substance. All these modern drivel woke rubbish that they produce ain't anywhere near movies like this. Absolutely not 5.9 out of 10 utter rubbish reviews. Excellent movie with van damme at his peak and mia sara looking absolutely beautiful.

This is not for art film lovers, this is a movie where Van Damme plays a "Time Cop" who is sent back in time by the time police force or whatever to stop future criminals from altering history in order to profit from it, for example by going back in time with crazy machine guns to wipe out civil war soldiers and steal their gold, or buy stocks right before they skyrocket in value, etc. He does a lot of shooting and kicking to get revenge against a psychotic politician who killed Van Damme's wife and wants to use time travel to become an evil president (Ron Silver who is so fun in this). Of course everything turns out OK in the end. After lots more face kicks and groin punches and flying bullets.

Any movie which attempts time travel must be absolutely perfect. Time travel in this movie is sloppily conceived. So for that, I give it a thumbs down. I don't care about anything else.

'Timecop (1994)' is not a good movie. It's cheesy, over-edited and too sincere for its own good. Still, it's undeniably entertaining. It starts off slow but soon picks up with a handful of fun set-pieces and scenery-chewing performances. It's also surprisingly resonant when it comes to its underlying political commentary. Sometimes, it surprises with a genuinely good one-liner, too. Some of the fun does, admittedly, come from laughing at the piece rather than with it. Nevertheless, the flick is enjoyable. It's poorly made, and certainly could've been better, but it definitely does its job. Sometimes, that's enough. 6/10

As far as Van Damme movies go, this isn't that bad. When he doesn't have to actually act too much (like Bloodsport), he's watchable. As far as movies about time travel go, this movie ranks right down there with the bottom. Not only is it less feasible then other movies like Terminator and even Back to the Future, the movie contradicts itself too many times considering how short it is. As far as all movies go, don't waste your money, unless you're a huge Van Damme fan. The action is good. But a so-so plot, sub-par acting, and amateur directing make this movie very forgettable.
