The, "bullies"/"thugs", are corny af. The parents and detective were the only BELIEVABLE actors. This was a waste of production. It was however a good script, just wish the acting was a lot better....I LOVED the twist though

This is just an all black version of a few 80s horror films poorly knitted together, Prom Night first sprung to mind, it uses music similar to Halloween, it actually fails to emulate any of them, the acting is fine but the plot line vaguely exists, there is no sense of dread nor drama, it just plods along and feels like the film makers simply wanted to make a point more than a good movie.

I was rooting for this film as there's quite a few Black actors and actresses in it that I know from other things but minute-by-minute, as the movie progresses I was slowly let down. The movie was half-asses in the writing department and the directing was given 3/4ths more effort but failed to deliver. It's got this "Black Jason" feel to it, but poorly structured with a booboo plot. I shook my head several times during the movie in response to the corny lines and music. This movie is ew, just ew.

With the decent music and fact that it was distributed by Universal you could be forgiven for thinking this was half way decent, however there is no mistake, this is awful.
It's a dreadful film, there is nothing unique, every sequence has been seen before, it all felt as if it had been stitched together from other movies.
The acting is shocking, absolutely dreadful, every single character was horrid, nobody was in the least bit likeable.
Possibly the least thrilling thing I've sat through. 2/10.

Great movie to watch when you have plenty of time to waste or to use as background noise. Plenty of scenes that make no logical sense.
-Chauncey could suddenly speak normally when he had a stuttering problem in the beginning
-He suddenly turned a lighter skin tone after 4 years?
-the kids looked like they were 11. Suddenly after 4 years they look 25 and are in high school?
-have 30 people at prom as if any high school has such a low amount of students let alone seniors.
-hoochie love? I have to laugh.
-their teacher wearing a bodycon dress like she's going to the club as if that outfit is allowed at any high school
-when the Mexican dude was talking to his girl and Chauncey grabbed him from behind and she supposedly didn't hear any of that going on when she was turned in the opposite direction.
-the girl then did a horrible jump and tripped and shockingly broke her leg to the point where blood was coming out? I can't.
-the annoying girl with the curly hair who pretends to be her twin when looking in the mirror...the singer she hooked up with takes a call outside and gets killed by Chauncey and screams yet she acts like she can't hear anything and continues taking selfies. She then magically gets dragged by the legs out of the car door. The end of the scene she ends up being found dead in the car??
-the rude girl pulls out a gun and everybody continues to dance. Koolaid comes out of the gun instead.
-the ending of who the killer is was kinda surprising, kinda not.
I only watched this movie because of the cast mainly being black people. Still didn't expect it to suck as much as it did.

With the excellent MJ album of the same name, or the definition of thriller which cannot be found in this film. Rating this flick as a 3. It isnt the most horrible movie ive ever seen and there were a few decent performances, mainly from the Concerned Principal and Hot Teacher trying to Make a Difference. I really liked the illustrations in the credits- they were actually pretty well done. Our story starts out with a gaggle of bratty 10 year olds playing a cruel trick on kind hearted Chauncy. After an accidental death, that could have easily been avoided had the little demon spawns merely not acted like gigantic jerks, the kids decide to blame Chauncy. Hes hauled off to juvie, after promising to get them all back. Four years later, the bratty 10 year olds have evolved into 26 year old high schoolers. Every horror cliche imaginable is featured here. We have the Good Girl going out with Mr. All Star. Bimbo McSluttyton, who has mental issues and plays with her hair a lot and stuffs her bra. Psycho Tough Girl, who seems hell-bent on ending up in federal prison. Love-lorn Loser and Guy With Glasses. Requisite Minority of the Bunch, here represented as a Latina. A douchy R. Kelly-esque sleazebag who has no problems sleeping with a maybe legal, maybe not groupie. Even a crabby Asian store keeper and Drunk Mama! Anyway, our merry band of stereotypes have lots of fun adventures and do lots of great things for their community. JK, LOL! No, they totally are only really focused on the big homecoming dance, and can you really blame them? After all, they're in their mid 20s, they've probably only had 7 or 8 of these things. They become mildly concerned when they find out Chauncy has been released from juvie. They become slightly more concerned when various members of the gang begin turning up dead. Dun-dun-DUN!!!! Who is doing it??? And, WHY?? Welp, you'll just have to see the explosive ending!!! Anyway, this is the kind of mindless tripe i enjoy watching, because it makes me feel better about my bad life choices. No matter my failures, ive never starred in a really wretched movie.

The plot had potential. Honestly, I enjoyed the beginning of the movie the most. Though the acting was acceptable, the characters were cliche ghetto teens making mistakes that every character in na horror movie makes. Considering RZA composed the soundtrack, it is terrible. The same cheesy sound effect comes on everytime you see the killer. I gave it a chance, but it was very weak.

Its a afro-american/central american inheritance inspired horror movie, that unfold at compton high in south central los angeles.
the story a quite good, and some of the horror pieces are acceptable, and the pace of the plot works, though with some cheesy holes, and the actors and actresses, are of a beautiful kind, actually smashing, but its all suffering from the tension of standing in front of a camera, and the end product becomes a bit saturated by that.and i wish the director had given them a scream on screen course, because the scream attempts were lame and unsignificant. the score consists of hip-rap-rnb, that seems to be obligatoy in these production corners. i didnt like the music, because i do not think hipraprnb that are happy party emotional music suits or boosts horendous crimes.
its a film where you can befriend the carachters, and its a revenge flick, so if you can bear over with the newbieness(not all of them are newbies) of acting, its a film to watch thinks the grumpy old man
