Of course this is a rip off of the 1987 movie which stared 3 really great actors. So Hallmark took 3 of its best and it turned out pretty well overall. This is written by two Hallmark acting vets, Paul Campbell, who also stars, and Kimberly Sustad who appears long enough to say "Three grown men and a baby, huh. You can't write this stuff."
Once the premise is set, the story doesn't matter. The story is just an excuse to create lots of funny gags. One of the best is the nutcracker dance. Sure all the men have some issues they need to work out but that aspect pales next to the comedy.
There is one thing I question. Did Hallmark decide that because it was on their rom/com channel that there had to be a romance or more than one. There are some hints, but never really any relationship building. You can't say there was chemistry between any couples while there was plenty in a brotherly way between the guys. I do have to admit though that somehow it left me satisfied in a way I can't explain.

Lots of Christmas movies to choose from. Make sure this one is at the top of your list. If this isn't the top rated Hallmark movie (all years) then someone has been finagling the reviews and ratings
You always look for the following: Acting, Writing, Personalities and Surprises. Got 'em all.
You want to miss these: Same old scenarios, same old plot manipulation, same old catch phrases. None of those.
I like to see recognizable faces from the top Hallmark stable of talent. Here in droves.
So, give it a shot. You will not be disappointed and if you decide to write a review, give it 12 stars.

This movie has a lot going for it especially in the way it swayed from the usual generic hallmark movie format/formula, I was looking forward to it for that reason, so had higher expectations than usual and ended up having a pretty fun time. It was cute, the script was good, it was genuinely funny at times and got quite a few giggles, smiles and laughs from me. The 3 main actors were good choices for their respective roles and actually seemed to be having a nice time acting in this, which is more than I can say for some of these made for TV movies, and it still kept in the usual vein of somewhat corny, lighthearted Christmas spirit one looks for in these types of things. Worth a watch.

I'm a diehard Hallmark fan, so of course I loved this movie for all the reasons mentioned on so many reviews. But what really struck me was some of the subtle things like not winning the contest, making friends with the neighbor instead of getting some kind of lighthearted revenge and the annoying girl you think will not get one of the handsome Wise Men does. There was a feel to this that seemed to eschew some of the typical hallmark themes by putting the romance as more of a sub plot while rekindling the love between a mother and her sons. Paul and Kimberly are amazing at taking familiar cliche movie stuff and repackaging it into a fun Hallmark worthy story but with a modern twist. Keep up the good work.

This movie is one of Hallmark's finest! I enjoyed every minute of it. It is funny, moving, meaningful and it really touched my heart. The cast is fantastic too!👏👏👏
This is a Christmas movie that shows what family is all about: sticking together, not leaving when life gets tough, finding out how empty life is without love in it and that what millions of parents, especially single parents do every day, is exceptional and priceless.
I enjoy Hallmark movies a lot and especially if they are as wonderfully made as this one.
I definitely recommend this movie and will gladly watch it again. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas season in advance.

The commercials looked funny and I am glad the movie did not disappoint! Loved all the characters and the storylines worked really well. It was funny, light hearted and charming. Each brother has their own struggles and the issues they had with their dad leaving them near Christmas made them bond together over the baby that was left at the fire station. The three brothers have such great chemistry, I really liked them and hope other hallmark movies continue to put together male leads just like the multiple female lead movies. They do live in a gigantic house and I wonder what they are like the rest of the year as the mom only says they argue and fight at Christmas but it seems like they generally don't speak to one another. The dance was amazing and the ending just cuts right when we think we will get another dance! Ahh! Why! Lol. The Christmas competition was a bit lacklustre. I thought they were going to do the dance after all the hype about the lights syncing with the music. The baby gets a rash and I didn't understand what caused the rash. I keep hearing the doctor say "tooth"? But does that cause a rash that spread the whole body?
Now my problem with the baby's mom. I get the mystery aspect of not signing the note with a name or contact info, but they really defended this mom (assuming she is a struggling single mom but she lives in a very expensive looking house!) as someone so desperate she could only trust the most eligible fireman in the town? What if they sent the kid to child services? Then what? How did the mom know where they lived when she showed up at the end? Did she see them on her cable tv that she is supposedly too poor to afford? Even if she was rich and just lost her job and needed a break from her kid, is this really the best solution? She could hire help with the mortgage from her house. It was a continent ending that the one brother without meeting someone would end up with her so it's one big happy family. But a part of me thought she was just going to be with anyone until her baby daddy shows up. She didn't say the dad was out of her life- really she didn't say much at all but we are supposed to think she is such a great person doing what's right for her baby because she is attractive? Anyways that's my rant on that. The movie is great and I highly recommend it.

I really hope Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad write more screenplays for Hallmark Christmas movies. The story was original as opposed to the same ones we see over and over, it's plausible, the inside of the houses aren't overly decorated (like real life), the acting is good, I love the three main actors, they fit their characters perfectly and their chemistry is great! And to cast Margaret Colin as their mom was a sweet nod, as she was in the original "Three Men and a Baby" movie. The baby was adorable and thank you for not using a fake one for any scenes (that I noticed) I hope this movie starts a shift for Hallmark into taking more chances.

Three Wise Men and a Baby returns Hallmark to solid footing with the majority of its viewers. NO AGENDA, JUST PURE ENTERTAINMENT! Yes this has the typical rom-com within the story line but it does not dominate but is always kept alive. Serious life issues are not buried but met head on with humor, awkward moments and redemption.
The combination of the different personalities of the three brothers was brilliant--differences that as the story line unfolds are made evident based on past experiences. This movie is a keeper. While not on the same level of classics like "It's a Wonderful Life" it comes close. Enjoy.

5.4 stars.
I feel like I missed out on the cool-aid everyone else is drinking. I am mortified as I gaze upon a landscape filled with disproportionately high ratings for a film that could not hold my attention for more than 20 minutes at a time.
*Edit* Here is where I edit this review. I now realize this is geared for women, and the focus is on the female audience. Duh. Why did I not see that before? This is a female oriented film, the men are hunks, and pleasing for female viewers. Most of the appeal is lost on me, and now I know why.
Am I supposed to conform to some politically correct directive that I'm not aware of? Is there a secret code or set of rules that dictates it is a requirement to sing praises to this movie?
I shake my head, force myself out of a surreal moment and think to myself, maybe I'm having an off day, I suppose if I were to rate this movie based on all factors other than those that attract me to a movie, it would be a 10 out of 10. Ok, so this is one of those film festival sort of rituals, we are only rating this based on a specific set of standards and criteria known to the Hollywood critics and such. Ok, I stumbled onto the wrong page, I can proceed to refresh and try again...
Back to reality, nope, I'm not dreaming. Ok, I'll do my best. What's not to like about a movie about three men and a baby? First of all, there's no plot. It's actually like real life. But generally speaking, ordinary life is boring to watch. You need action, tension. Romance, good vs evil, right vs wrong, romance. This has none of that. This is about 3 brothers babysitting an infant until the infant's mother claims said infant and everyone can go on their merry way.
What else is lacking? Entertainment value. I was not entertained by this in the least. Over the holidays I'm in the mood to watch a feel good holiday story, maybe with a bit of cheer. This film brings no cheer.
There are some really fantastic scenes. Cinematography is stellar, editing, acting, pacing - good. There is some hilarious dialogue intermittently woven into the generally cynical atmosphere of three juvenile men from an obviously dysfunctional family. But there is no heart, no soul, no joy. Ummm, 10 stars?
Nope. OR, just maybe I am just flat wrong about this one. It's possible.
