Dumplings - A high 6/10
Cut - A decent 7/10
Box - a high 9/10
'Box' almost really feels like it shouldn't be grouped in with the other two films, not because of its quality, but because of its genre. In my opinion, it's much less of a "horror" film, and more of a thriller. It's also the best written and most interesting short I've seen.

I think that 'Dumplings' takes it all. Well cut from the full length version so that audiences still get the main point. By far, my favorite of the three. Interesting, delightfully sickening, and great performances from all the actors.
'Cut' was a disappointment. Sure, it was gruesome, made one twitch here and there, however, it was pretty much a let down. Attempting to mix comedy and this type of drama was a disaster.
'Box'was very intriguing...until the end is reached. The audience is left thinking, 'All that for THIS?!' But all in all, the good outweighs the bad, and 8 very enthusiastic thumbs up.

Though "Dumplings" had a pretty cool concept, partway through the films you realise that there's no benefit to putting yourself through them. And it really is an experience you're dragging yourself through, with no way near enough pay off.

I love this movie and watched it lot of imes. The camera man is very good with many new angles. Lots going on in this movie you have to watch it lots of times to understand it all.

I love the films of Park Chan Wook and Takashi Miike. The former's 'Cut' was my favourite here. Shocking and thought provoking in equal measure. Mike's 'Box' left me underwhelmed for some reason. It was just OK. It seemed slow by his standards, even for a short. Maybe my expectations were too high. On to Fruit Chan's 'Dumplings'. I've finally got round to watching this short. I don't know if it's because I watched it when I was hungover but it made me feel nauseous. I'm not normally disturbed by films but this succeeded. Well directed and obviously highly metaphorical, but nonetheless very disturbing. I genuinely don't know if I'd dare to watch the full length of it, and I'm not sure I'd want to.

Details are like puzzle pieces. Miss a piece & you lose a whole picture. Because of that fact, had to watch Dumplings twice. Ending in Cut seemed senseless unless director being terrorized just went mad. The least gory of the trilogies was Box. I really enjoyed it due to this differrence. It was exasperating to the viewer but the ending connects the pieces all together. Horrifying situations were presented versus an actual sequence of events. The trilogies are intricate and quality productions. High marks for unique efforts in horror.

Three... Extremes? More like three nose picks. This movie was not worth the time. It would have been more productive to tweeze my eyebrows than watch this. I only got through the first story & about a minute of the second, & I just had to turn it off. The first story was full of times where I covered my eyes in abhorrence. There was a couple of disturbing scenes, I'll give it that, but seriously, the most intriguing part of the movie was the one chick's choice in trousers. & the second story? The chick's acting of an upset stomach made my stomach upset just the same. I'm thinking this would have been better if I was drinking vodka straight out of the bottle... Maybe everyone else was when they wrote such great reviews.

Seriously, with the director's of Thirst and Audition doing two of the segments you'd think fans of Asian cinema would be touting this thing to the heavens.
The Cut segment is amazing and should have been rewarded with a blank check and an order to, "Just make great horror films forever please."
