Technically, "Thirst" is a good film. Generally, the acting isn't bad. There is, of course, that overused Korean trope of hammy overwrought emotions on display, but at least it isn't slammed in your face as much as other Korean dramas I've seen. The Hitchcockian elements in this film (sparse strings, night scenes, etc) are well-represented here. Some of the special effects isn't bad, either. The script is fairly original, if a bit slow in parts, but the sheer volume of love scenes and hyper-religious people crumples an otherwise good flick like discarded foil.

Traditional vampire genre , but , personally for me way too boring ... couldn't really get my full attention ...5 stars for being different .Nevertheless , passable one time watch...

This was a movie about the dramatic internal conflict of a priest and between said priest and a woman who catches his interest. The woman is full of her own problems and is extremely unhappy and has more to herself than she lets on. It is somewhat bloody but the sound effects are very, um...frequent. Almost annoyingly so. The story is pretty solid and the acting was good. The settings were a bit iffy for me. Just didn't feel it. It isn't bad. If you don't mind the subtitles, give it a try.

I didn't like the story and the way it was told (little confusing) but the camera work and cinematography is breathtaking. Park and Bong never disappoint me in terms of style and visual storytelling. I got to say that Kang-ho Song is an incredible actor and he is very subtle. Horror fans will enjoy it but it just isn't my cup of tea.

Another take on a vampire romance movie. It had some slow poetic moments, but also had useless B-Movie CGI. Overall its a great movie if you can ignore some of the drawbacks, not the best choice for your first korean film, but you can really enjoy it if you are already familiar with this kind of filmmaking.

Although at times I was the only one in the cinema who was laughing, this is the main pleasure I took from the beautifully shot "Thirst" - laughter. Although sometimes it seemed that the movie had an identity crisis and didn't know whether it was a tragedy or a comedy, the blackest of black humour shone through at regular intervals. It helped of course that it the standard of acting by everyone concerned was wonderful, and that I was slightly obsessed by the at times wicked leading lady, who was gorgeously elegant no matter how blood soaked and malevolent she became. I read reviews that suggested this movie was overlong. I didn't think so. In fact the last scenes, moving and hilarious (I mean, the brown shoes....) by turns, were among the best in the film.

Honestly when I first saw it I thought it was a stereotypical preacher gets turned into an evil creature and embraces it, however every time you think you know what will happen and at one point what did happen the film subverts that expectation in a well done manner and also the director get's credit too because some of the camera angles really do add to it, I'm no expert but I do know sometimes zooming in to get things focused on certain areas can definitely help with the tension, especially with one scene but this is a spoiler free review so yeah, 7/10, would totally reccomend.
