I had great hopes when I first went to watch this movie with my kids; we usually enjoy the same films in different ways. I hated this. My 10 year old hated it. My 6 year old liked it. Everything just seemed FORCED. The directors bent your arm saying "you need to feel bad for the dad NOW" - and I didn't. I never felt like I cared at all about the main characters. The kid was whiny and his dad was a goober. Maybe I was hoping for a bit more 'wisdom' from a lion. Which brings up the question of why Disney decided to put huge similarities with the LION KING? That really turned me off to this flick. I liked Putty, and Janine G, and that's about it. Actually, Shatner was good in this - despite MST3K's usual opinion. This is a lot like a horribly ill-fated finding Nemo.

Truly the worst Disney movie. No imagination, no creativity, and a shameful rip off. This does not have the same quality that the usual Disney movie has. Animation is not beautiful, it doesn't look nice. Not even so bad it's funny. It's purely just bad and not redeemable in any way.

I had expected more from this since it was Disney. it basically took the plot from Madagascar. a lion and other zoo animals from new york take a boat to the wild. it was rated G, so they couldn't have much to say in it. it had the basic father loses son and father must go get him back. Seems Disney needs to ruse some of its old movie plots to make a new one. I guess Disney is starting o lose it. It had humor in that that a small child would like, but not really an older person. Unless you are middle aged mother, but that is pretty much it. it had a few haha parts, but it was ehh threw out th rest of the movie. other than that, if u have small children, then take them. If not, then don't go.

The fact that it's a Disney film that I HATE is bad enough, because I've given so much praise to many forgotten Disney films, and the prospect of there being a Disney film that I consider to be my LEAST FAVOURITE FILM OF ALL TIME is pretty upsetting. Its a Terrible Combination of The Lion King, Finding Nemo&Madagascar This is the GARBAGE PAIL KIDS of Disney films... The Characters are Annoying, The Jokes Aren't Funny, The Dialogues are Terrible, Even the Ending Credits of that Movie was the Worst And Worst of all This Film has Adult Humour How they got THAT into a U film.... I DO not know... The adult humor and innuendos? All that violence and scenes of fright? And that got a U?! I mean, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Black Cauldron, CARS, TOY STORY?! Those are given a PG but THIS is given a U?! Don't See This Movie Go Rant Fantasia Instead

Pros: The animation was great -- the animators did an excellent job of giving real texture to most of the animals in the film, very impressive. Cons: the story was a rip-off of "Madagascar" but the charm in "The Wild" was not even a fraction of what was in "Madagascar". The movie just flat out lacked anything to make it stand out except the animation, and animation is not enough for me, personally. Comments: If you want to go see a movie with your kids in the theaters right now go see "Ice Age 2" -- it's a much better film. My wife and I found ourselves just enduring the film like the old kids movies used to be. Movies like "Shrek" and "The Incredibles" and "Madagascar" have raised the expectations of what a kids movie should be, and this simply falls below the line.

I did like the movie and my children really liked the movie also but the one thing that really made me crazy is the British SPEAKING KOALA BEAR why??? we are Australian and that guys accent was NOT Australian I don't understand why the film produces had a British guy play the role of a koala. Talk about confusing the public. Everywhere we go people ask up if we are from ENGLAND... NO WE ARE NOT!!! We are Australian there is a HUGE difference however maybe this is why people are so confused because even the producers of this movie don't seem to know the difference between the English and the Australian accent but believe me we did, and this Koala bear would have been perfect with a Aussie accent so why the British one we ask???? it wrecked the film in our minds.

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood when I was watching this. Maybe I have seen too many cartoon gags. Whatever it was, I found most of the gags not really funny. I didn't really connect with the characters either. The animation is very beautifully done, but as another reviewer described it, "soulless". Many scenes feel as fillers, detached from the main plot. The last half hour the mood changes from funny to serious and scary. while that part still has some very funny aspects to it, it reminded me a lot of the "be prepared" song in the Lion King, the only part of that movie that I hated. All in all an OK movie. Not boring, not memorable.

Other than a rare amusing line or quip, this is one of the worst kids' movies I've ever seen. Although not to taken seriously by adults, the movie also made questionable references/portrayals of sacrifices and demonic characterizations that might scare younger (<6yo) kids full of whiny characters why are many of the animated films of late relying on B-level celebrities for voices? Better voice talents would help this film. what is the deal with the heroin-haze music in this film, it's the same type of junk that reeked in Curious George (although CG was a marginally better film)
