I just finished sitting through 3/4 of this movie on my phone because the first 1/4 was really stupid. I found no thing funny about it. The rest of the movie I was playing games on my iPhone occasionally looking at the screen hear and there.
This is like a hillbilly knockoff of A Haunted House. Very lame and no expressions at all from the characters. This was definitely an eye roller.
4/10.

I went into the movie with low expectations. It's another Big Foot movie...yay. However, there were somethings that exceeded my expectations, such as the cinematography.
PROS:
They did an incredible job at capturing the Vice documentary look. I take it that they used the exact same equipment and everything. Nice touch.
They captured the corniness of a lot of Vice's material, as well. The star sounds just like a typical Vice reporter, with his dry voice, stone face, and dry humor. Another nice touch.
CONS:
It's not a horror movie at all. It was one long Vice parody. The only "great" parts of the movie happened at the end.
I felt that some of the characters deserved bigger roles. For instance, the crazy cousin had such a corky personality that the trip would have been much more interesting with him along. It would have been crazy seeing him at Mama's camp. Oh well.
Also, Big Foot needed to be in the movie more often. By the middle of the movie, I felt as though it was all a hoax...which it was. Big Foot "saving the day" felt unnecessary, at that point.
Lastly, nothing surprised me. The cop felt crooked the first time I saw him. Both of the "Big Foot Hunters" seemed incompetent from the start. Big Foot killing everybody was ridiculous, considering they all had assault rifles. Is Big Foot invincible?
OVERALL:
It was an enjoyable movie. It was a little underwhelming and very predictable, at times.

Just watched this on Showtime and sooooo glad I gave it a shot!! There were times I laughed so hard out loud cuz the writing & acting was really very good! You need to like movies like Best In Show, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel (my personal fav) because it's got that quirky, intelligent, witty humor that's also silly & fun with dry humor throw in the mix too. There were many "twists" that I totally didn't see coming and I'm good at predicting plot twists so I was pleasantly surprised with how the move progressed and ended.
Definitely give it a try if you like the movies I mentioned above (forgot to mention the late great Mel Brooks movies too ~ okay so maybe not on THAT level of genius BUT this is just as fun to watch as his movies).

Needed more DirtyDolla$ign$
On the plus side at least it was better than Terror at Blood Fart Lake.
Did I say it needed more DirtyDolla$ign$. He was the best part of the movie.

Part satire of the Vice media culture, part Bigfoot-hunting mocumentary, this film successfully recreates the editing style and music cues of Vice films, there's great plot and character developments, and the cast do a great job. A great comedy/horror film that totally exceeded my expectations.

Enjoyed it very much! I connected to comedy and big foot scenes a lot.

Not the worst bigfoot movie out there and definitely not the best. I didn't really care for it. It had some good writing and the movie flows well. Unfortunately it becomes boring pretty quick. For the most part It's basically just a movie about a few guys stumbling around in the woods. Nothing really happens. And why is this labeled under horror? Literally nothing scary about this film but ok. 5 stars.

If you can get past the lead constantly licking his lips and beard in the most disturbing way, its a kinda funny but its another way to make fun of southern people by yankee yuppies. If it didn't put the south down in the worst way. It would be more fun.

Originally known as The VICE Guide to Bigfoot, this tells the tale of a clickbait journalist - in case you missed it in the title - who goes to the Appalachian mountains to report on a Bigfoot convention.
While the movie starts out making fun of sites like, well, VICE, it soon becomes yet another film where people wander the woods and yell each others' names really loud. Or maybe I'm just old and the joke of making a movie all about a type of journalism that is already a joke doesn't ring true with me (it hits different or has a weird flex or whatever currently way of saying that, feel free to fill in the blanks).
Seeing as how this movie wasn't affiliated with VICE, I wonder how it was connected to it at any point. Maybe the filmmakers pushed ahead, sure they could get the name approved. Who can say? Well, maybe the filmmakers. If you're one of them, let us know.
There is some humor in this, if only that once city folk find their way into the woods, they don't do so well. Then again, YMMV. See, I can use the language of the times. Sometimes.
