The film is extremely lively, endearing and engrossing so that the underlying message to protect trees and environment is seamlessly driven home.

Directed by Manika, #TheWishingTree has its heart in the right place, but the execution could have been much better. There's a kid who is shamed for being fat, there's another kid who steals because his dad's business is down, there's another kid who is forced to work at a dhaba, there's another kid who is a slow learner n finally there's the tree which is considered evil n is about to be destroyed. Many relevant issues are deliberated but the resolutions provided are filmy n meek. Schools should book bulk tickets n show it to their students. Rating 2.5/5.
