What a movie! I cried a lot because of the situations that were emoted so so well through the three friends- Odette, Clarice and Barbara Jean. All three are different from each other, as different as sunshine and rain and day and night.
Through their friendship, they survive abusive relationships, unhappy marriage, death and loss of loved ones. They also celebrate the love and respect and kindness that comes their way.
While the entire world around them shifts and changes, the only thing constant is their friendship.
There is good humour too and have some hilarious lines. Overall, a great tear-jerker and must watch.

The best movie I've seen this year! In the fact, the best in the last 3 years! Optimistic, realistic, well acted and performed! Excellent!!! I refused tot watch movies released after 2020! Too dark and too long! I whatched given the title! I said I'd try IT! It was a pleasure! As for the cast, I don't know witch of the characters I liked better! They all have a special charm! Even Minnie is good spice although, at first, you don't quite understand why she appears! But you are told something of a prophecy! In fact, that's how the movie begins! We all have a purpose in life, and in the end this is transmitted to you! And you understand something else: it's never too late to make a change!

I watched this film in my college class, it's a course where we watch all kinds of movies. This is a movie I probably wouldn't have watched had it not been for the course, I'm a 30 y/o guy that typically goes for the action, sci-fi, thriller type of flicks.
It started off with some scenes that I felt like I'd seen before in other movies but around 20 mins or so in the film really came alive. I started to actually care about the characters. This film takes place in 2 timelines, one where the cast is in their early 20's and one where they are in their early 50's. While the younger actresses held their own it was their older, veteran counterparts that really drew me in. Their acting and chemistry was top notch. Yes there were some corny parts and I understand why the rating is in the 6's but man their ability to deliver on emotional scenes nearly had me in tears like three times. Yet the film never felt too heavy, it would get deep when necessary then lighten back up like a rain cloud dispersing for the sun.
I'm glad I watched this one, I enjoyed it so much I recommended it to my mom and she really loved it. IMDB only lets you give whole numbers but I'd say it was a 6.8/10, which for me is a pretty solid score.

This was a great movie. At first I thought it would be too long. I didn't even notice the 2 hours because it kept up the pace. It's about life, it's ups and downs. I didn't have any expectations and I loved how it moved through the years. I thought it would be sad; however, I could relate to the plot. The actors were great, some very funny scenes...sad too. It's a great watch if you like really really good movies that are not fairytale-ish. And movies that have great endings where life goes on, good and bad. Hidden gem that I can rewatch and still love this movie. I recommend watching, it's worth it.

In the past 10 years I have been very disappointed with black directors' talent behind the camera, and this movie adds to the list. Tyler Perry is the only lousy director out there who is black. From where I sit, only two black directors rise above the rest: Ryan Coogle and Barry Jenkins. Make no mistake, I know when I am looking at a good-directed movie, and this ain't it.
It took 20 minutes to become disinterested and not care about rest of the movie, click off due to many characters at one time in the beginning. The little i saw, was going in familiar territories of people, places, and things according to generation of black pain.

This movie is beautiful and I loved the era that they chose to set it in. Strong Black women are always a beautiful thing to see. If there are bad reviews, in which there are, it's from people who has a distain for Black History & culture because the plot/story is very eye catching and engaging. My complaint would be that it wasn't longer. They should have made this into a mini series. Also, those actors & actresses really did their thing. The score should have been higher for this movie. Some people come here and purposely give it a low score because they are biased. I would recommend this movie to those who wants to see a good movie.
