I have to compare this to the book right here. And the book was 12x better. This movie ruined a perfectly good book. Just changed and left out things that were important to the plot, making the movie a simple romance when it could have been SO MUCH MORE. I wanted Ponytail Daniel. Did I get him? NO. The ending in the book was beautiful, what did we get here? An oh-let's-end-the-movie-now kind of ending. Sure, go watch this if you want to waste 2 hours of your life, because you have no life. Man, the movie had such potential to be better.

Nice little love story about coindences and opening your heart to fate. But.....at the end of the movie, they profess their love for each other and then never see each other until five years later? Do cell phones not work in Jamaica? It is not realistic to believe that two teenagers that have fallen in love would not have kept in touch during that time. Kind of ruined the whole movie for me. Maybe they explained that in the book?

I don't have to say no more, u can read from all the above reviews how boring this movie is and they're absolutely true...only a percentage of of hopeless romantics can like this one... forgettable in all aspects, no chemistry at all...imagine the movie was made on a shoestring budget and it couldn't even recoup that. How can a movie about falling in love and bonding be so damn boring!!

I can't describe how beautifully written & acted this relevant story of love and loss touches the heart. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who participated in the creation of this original, moving, touching, and completely satisfying journey of love.

The Sun Is Also A Star didn't really catch my attention the first time I saw the trailer but when it came to when I actually saw it, I was pretty impressed with the product. The Sun Is Also A Star was not only powerful but it had diversity it in the form of a African-American and Asian relationship which I believe was a plus. The acting was also very good as well but I will admit that the story was somewhat slow and that some parts of it repeated which is why I didn't give this a 10 but overall, I was very impressed and this was a enjoyable movie.

I think the movie concepts is good, the acting is ok the cinematography is not bad but I don't feeling emotional with the love story. Not a bad movie but not get into me.
