This is a pretty good story about a man, Henry Dawles, who shows up to appraise the home of Mr. Remiel. Remiel is a southern gent of sorts, and oversees not only the his home but that of sinister beings. What are these beings? Ghosts? Zombies? Demons? Are they all the imagination of Henry? Is this just one long nightmare Henry is having? I won't give away what happens - only to say it's pretty good and reminds me a bit of the older/classic horror films that I love. The movie is done in good taste - creepy beings, a bit of blood without going crazy with all the fake blood on screen and creating a gorefest. The movie is character and story driven instead of being a bloodbath gory "veg-out in front of the screen" movie. This film works with your mind - my type of horror! 8.5/10

I dont normally watch movies with less then 20 reviews because theres usually a reason for that but I'm glad I went ahead and watched this one. The suffering isnt goin to be a cult classic and wont be on anyones top 10 but its worth watching, had a good plot, had decent actors, and good cinematography and for a horror movie these days those 3 things alone make it better then half the stuff out there. Would deffinatly recomend this one for a lazy weekend when you wana see somethin new but dont want to take a huge risk.

A man is brought out to a huge estate for a property appraisal. After a few days the man starts losing his mind as he finds the place full of secrets and very unsettling things. The man who hired him keeps offering more money to do the job in order to keep him there longer. He soon finds there might be no escape. This flick was a major slow burner. It does build up to a trippy ending, but you might not have enough patience to find out. The subject matter gets a little deep as well so if you're not in the mood for a heavy flick, steer clear of this one. Nothing exciting but there are a few creepy scenes and a whole lot of wondering what'd really going on. 5 bottles of peroxide poured into a gut wound out of 10.

Henry Dawles (Nick Apostolides) is commissioned to perform an appraisal of the estate of Mr. Reimel (Phil Amico) an elderly southern gentleman. His possessions are quite extensive and it will require several days. Henry has just left a failed relationship with his wife over his infidelity. As he lifts his shirt we get our first clue to a long developing mystery...been there done that. The film goes in circles for too long as the mystery drags on and the Zippo becomes annoying. Our protagonist is neither likable nor entertaining. They work in as many jump scares as possible. While the film was adequately done, it could have been made-for-TV. The tag line is a plot spoiler, so be careful what you read. Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

But because of the atheists people it has low ratings coz they don't believe in such things, but this movie will definitely change your perspective..

Some bloke goes to a big house in the country where the enigmatic owner has requested a market appraisal. Blah blah, mysterious spooky stuff happens. And happens some more. And some more and some more and some more. (This is all going somewhere, right? I mean, it's GOT to be going somewhere...) As tensions between the bloke and the enigmatic owner become unbearable, the mystery begins to unfold, until... epic anticlimax. I rate The Suffering at 9.99 on the Haglee Scale, which works out as an anticlimactic 3/10 on IMDb.

This movie starts off as a promising supernatural - my favorite kind of horror. It has the right atmosphere, suspense and mystery to keep one hooked for the first half - even the first three quarters of the film. The mind wanders over possible explanation for the phenomenon - a haunting by the property-owner's parents, a psycho hunting and capturing fugitives, a disease or possession - and all of these in retrospect seem more appealing than the actual conclusion. Let's just say, personally, I am not one for reaffirming barbaric religious punishments in film in this day and age and this movie was a poor attempt at convincing me otherwise. The cliché of the betrayed wife maddened by jealousy was poorly played, the property- owner who is all for 'civilized conversations' in the beginning is talking our protagonist into walking through fire for his sins by the end, and to top it all off we're reminded that a child had his eyes gouged out for the sin of 'envy'. I don't know what Mr. Hamilton wished to achieve with this film but it did not thrill, excite, or (thankfully) scare in its entirety. A tragic waste of a perfectly good setting.

Watching this movie was a big mistake. I couldn't believe i wasted 1hr 40 min of my life watching this movie without skipping any scene. The movie feels like a film school movie project. It's cheap looking. The camera angles aren't good, the script is awful, the editing is so sloppy.. the whole movie is a mess. The acting is just OK except for the lead. He is so expressionless. And there's this scene when the movie suddenly changes from supernatural horror to 28 days later. That was cringe worthy.. All in all, the story is fine.. it's a jacob's ladder copycat but the quality of the film is just bad. It's poorly directed (maybe this is his first feature length movie), a bad performance from the lead actor, the editing, the location, almost everything is bad..

I can't believe virtually nobody has even heard of this movie. The suffering takes place in an old estate, where the main character Henry has been hired to appraise the property. In the opening scenes you can't shake the feeling something is off. The dialog, music, and sound effects come together in just the right ways to produce a unique creepy atmosphere to this movie. As the movie progresses you encounter some good jump scares, a deeper complexity to the main character, and a great story line. The ending of the film is good, I honestly didn't see the twist coming until the big reveal at the end. I've watched this movie a couple times since I first watched it,the story line doesn't seem to lose appeal to me, and I've even found a few things I've missed. I'm glad I stumbled upon this movie, it easily became one of my favorites.
