This movie is poorly executed, ludicrous propaganda. My previous lengthy review was lost somehow so I will simply say this ... Bad acting, bad writing, bad scoring, and a premise so flawed that it makes being murdered by demons both the thing they are trying to avoid and the way to get to heaven? I also appreciate them explicitly stating that being spiritual is not good enough, that being a generally good person is not good enough, even that getting married somewhere other than a church is worthy of damnation. None of these characters are bad people (bad actors, but not bad people). The message of the movie seems to be that having belief is more important than being a good person. Don't watch this movie, you will regret it.

Unlike the people that were complaining that they didn't know this was a Christian movie, I read the description and watched the trailer. It clearly mentions judgment day and the preacher calls it the Rapture. I had no doubt what this movie was about. I also enjoyed that it was a Christian themed movie. Not a 100% biblical it still gave a sense of the rapture. For Christians that like the horror genre this was a good little movie about the choices we make even if it causes us suffering, we have to choose. The acting was okay for this type of movie. The special effects were pretty good too.

When i watched this movie I was not aware of the Christian themes, apparently affirm films is some kind of Christian movie company. I was reasonably entertained though, despite the preaching. I was hoping that the end would reveal that it wasn't the rapture and in fact aliens where masking there invasion as the rapture to avoid any resistance! would have been an awesome twist!the movie seemed very well made for a b-movie, and there where some pretty good special effects, although this was not an action movie. as a note, watch this movie and ask yourself, how can 47 % of American Christians believe that Jesus will come back to earth, soon and do this to all the non-Christians, good or bad? seems a bit harsh and unfair!? Jesus! :D

I was hoping to be able to see this movie once I found out about it. I always enjoyed apocalyptic type movies but I had never even heard about it until I saw the trailer for it a few days ago on YouTube. Apparently It came & went out of the theaters so fast that no one I know has even heard of it. Since then I have checked every website including Amazon to try & find the DVD for it with no luck. Does anyone know if it is going to be put out as a DVD or re-released. It seems kind of strange that they have not already done so. When most movies have a limited theater run, they usually push to get them out on something like netflix or DVD as soon as they can in order to make more money but with this film there is nothing. If it wasn't for the 1 trailer I found I would never even have known it existed. I would appreciate any info others may have on this movie's future release.

I enjoyed the movie for what it was. You morons who are offended by anything remotely spiritual probably shouldn't watch stuff like this. One of you even said only militant Christians would like this film. I personally don't have any interest in converting any of you tantrum-throwing, so-called atheists. I don't care what you believe. Death will show us all the truth once and for all. No one said this movie is an accurate depiction of the end of the world. Only small-minded people would even suggest that this is what's being portrayed. To each his own. Somebody's right and somebody's wrong. I simply choose to err on the side of caution. Those with a bigger sack than I, good luck.

I saw "The Remaining", starring Bryan Dechart-Awakened, Step Up 3D; Alexa PenaVega-Machete Kills, The Spy Kids movies; Johnny Pacar- Playback, Wild Child and John Pyper-Ferguson-X_men:The Last Stand, Unforgiven. This is a subtle, religious themed movie that focuses on love and faith to get through a crises of biblical proportions. The title of the movie refers to the people on earth that are left behind after the rapture happens. If you are not up on your biblical history, the rapture is when God calls his people up to Heaven-just the ones that are saved. Bryan and Alexa are a young couple that are getting married. Johnny is Bryan's friend and is video taping the wedding-Yes, it's got a lot of the hand held camera work. During their wedding reception, people start falling over dead-they are being called home. There are end of the world, Apocalyptic events happening right outside, including ice hale stones and fire from the sky and earthquakes on the ground. The friends seek refuge in a close by church where John, the pastor there, confirms what is going on. The friends start questioning their lives-why weren't they taken? Are they bad people? Basically, they are saying that you need to be right with your God to be saved. It's rated "PG-13" for violence and terror and has a running time of 1 hour & 23 minutes. It's not one that I would buy on DVD but it would be alright, as a rental.

Loved it from the trailer. Movie was great! A bit of the filming was dark but no big deal. The script was good. The story wasn't overall original but it did what it had to do to get the point across. It had a sense of realism (even if you're not a Christian) that you don't find in a lot of "end times/rapture films." The acting was solid & having the beautiful & talented Ms.Alexa PenaVega was a definite plus! I have seen & own quite a few DVD's from Affirm Films. Some are a bit preachy but this isn't one of them. I wouldn't call this horror as in a gory type film. It's more of an intense thriller that'll make you think about yourself & your path in life.
