The days of decent horror film making are over. No more story build up, no character development, no more things that go bump in the night. Now it's all about blood gore and CGI. This film was just a joke in the making. It was silly, senseless and stupid. No chills, thrills or interest. I just wanted it to end. This is so why I stopped wasting my hard earned money going the theater buying tickets, and wait to download everything I watch now. I would've been pissed if I paid a for ticket to watch this garbage. Welcome to 21st century, the horror genre is dead.

This actually started out as a not too bad and very different sort of possession movie. More like a thriller than a horror film. Then 47 minutes into it, it took a turn. And it got stupid. Really stupid. Why? Too bad.

The Possession of Hannah Grace tells the story of Megan Reed(Shay Mitchell). Megan takes the night shift at a hospital morgue. She begins experiencing some strange goings-on, caused by a malevolent supernatural entity. The Possession of Hannah Grace is a good film. Director Diederik Van Rooijen gives us a pretty engaging movie. The suspense, build-up & anticipation is brilliant but, the pay-off is underwhelming. There are very few genuine scares in the film. Shay Mitchell is brilliant as Megan Reed. Grey Damon is superb as Andrew Kurtz. Kirby Johnson is awesome as Hannah Grace/Cadaver. Nick Thune is amazing as Randy. Louis Herthum is spectacular as Man/Killer/Grainger. Stana Katic is outstanding as Lisa Roberts. The Possession of Hannah Grace is not a must watch. Watch it if you have some time to kill.

My review for Possession of Hannah Grace: It has all the stuff you'd expect from a possession movie. Jump scares, suspense, great story, gore. And leaves an opening for a sequel. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10.

James Cameron once said that a good director has to "control the audiences synapses". There were a lot of "wtf" moments for me where I said "why is this important?" I counted about 4 times in the movie where she has to wave her arms around and look stupid to turn the motion sensor lights on. It was distracting. There was no good story to this thing either. Why does the demon girl kill everyone in a "Jesus" like fashion? Why does she run on all fours when she proves she can walk on two legs? If the demon can heal a dead body and regenerate lost body parts, why can't it heal an incinerated body? What the hell was the ending about? We see the main character "toughening up" like their might be a sequel but we know dam well there won't be so what was the point of showing that? The ending was presented as if the movie was some deep look into the main character but it never was. If you want to see a good horror movie, this isn't it.

The Possession of Hannah Grace is horrible. A Cliche, boring, poorly written, predictable, and laughably bad film. Everyone was laughing during the scenes they try to scare you with, and I was just sighing. It was like watching Golem crawling around looking for his damn precious.... I see why they didn't allow critics to screen it before release. Bad CGI and timid "cut scene" deaths. It's Absolutely awful. Save Your money and your brain cells.
