Ok, so I was bored today and I was like what should I do for the next two hours and then it hit me Hey go watch a nice thriller movie you silly me. I love German and French movies so when I stumbled upon this one I really thought it might be really good according to the description of it. Also I watched other Perfume thrillers versions and they were all memorable. So, this perfume bs movie actually starts nicely and subtly like a pretty aroma that doesn't give you a headache.. Just a little interesting, kinda tiny little bit fishy smelling at moments but it nothing too stinky to set you off or make you stop watching. So I convinced myself to go on. It drags forever, so blandly and boringly you constantly have to fight with yourself and water splash your face to not fall asleep. Then suddenly directors pull a really stinky one and kill the character you thought the whole time is actually the main character. Nope, it wasn't. But you don't stress cause she was making you slap yourself for watching this bs anyway. So it drags on. On and on and on... Then you wake up abruptly, look at the tv screen and see Netflix suggesting to you what you can watch next and realize you slept through that bs movie. And you're like Damn I wanna be a hero, I gotta hit the Imdb and write a review to warn people about this disaster. So then can save themselves. Cause this Perfume movie shouldn't stink anybody's day like it did mine ever again!

German movies and dramas used to be good but now they're just low budget with very poor acting , no plot , disappointments This film tries to be 'arty farty' with a 'Laura Ashley ' vibe going on , in the way it's filmed . Then you also have the nod to Silence of the Lambs with the serial killer type of character and a blonde transvestite in this film . So suddenly it tries to be serious . There's no plot . Nothing makes sense . It's like the person who wrote this jotted down some gibberish when they were bored . What's astounding is that this story got the funding to be made into a movie! I watched half an hour and just couldn't watch anymore. I knew it couldn't get any better and reading other reviews I was right I'd give this rubbish a minus score if I could . IMBD How about introducing minus scores for movies ?

This movie features some of the most talented actors in Germany, in my humble opinion, such as the fantastic August Diehl and the wonderful Ludwig Simon, or the talented Emilia Schüle. I'm still trying to figure out what lured them into this project... "The Perfume" by Patrick Süskind is such a great novel and is mentioned to be the source of inspiration for this movie. Unfortunately there is neither any kind of intriguing storyline, nor do we get to know the characters or their ambitions in depth, which inevitably leaves the viewer with this fragmentary piece that is hard to engage in. Some of the more odd characters, such as the female accomplice Rex, would need so much more explaination in this narrative. The viewer just can figure out what drives them to their action (despite total madness?). It's such a pity, that the script is so bad, because the actors are as great as always. I'm suffering while watching them saying some of the most pathetic nonsense-lines from the script. They are struggling hard to make the lines work, but the dialogues and monologues are just too strange. I'm very sorry on their behalf.

600 characters are really too much for a lot of movies, this being one of them. I could say two simple words, aesthetic rubbish, and you would immediately understand what I'm talking about. There are a lot of silent scenes, interesting costume choices, "visionary" moments... the complete indie package. It has nothing to do with the German serie Der Perfume, August Diehl (I love him so much) cammeo is clearly an attempt to create an expanded universe but it's just not it. It's boring. It's mostly pointless. It's too long. There are so many basic plot twists that could be laughable if the movie didn't take itself so damn seriously.

This materpice of a movie is totally misunderstood. The director and writer wants to tell you about love like it really is. I understand how people think this is a trash movie, but try to read in between the lines. Notice that most of the conversations are going on, while the actors dont even move their mouths! When we dive deeper into the love in this movie, we start to understand how important it is to the human kind. We are all desperate for love, just look at Dorian. The thing is! If you got too much love, you will get eaten up, just like Rex. It really is a brilliant movie, even the actors use their tears and emotions to show us their love.

This epic novel has already been perfectly adapted to the cinema by a German director, Tom Tykwer. I will never understand why the Germans made a disgraceful adaptation of a movie that left its mark on cinema. The acting is bad, the cinematography is mediocre, the adaptation made to the present is incredibly bad, it has failed in terms of scenario. If I were Nils Willbrandt, I would try to prevent this movie from being released. The only good thing about this movie is that it makes you want to watch the Tom Tykwer version again. I'm sure the budget spent on this movie is more than the budget in Tom Tykwer's movie. The worst movie is Netflix Germany.

I don't know why is it trending? I seriously don't know. The story is bland. Like really really bland. It could have been a 10 minutes short story instead. The story is about how a detective gets involved with a perfume maker who k/ills people in order to make a perfume that will make everyone fall in love and there'll be no hatred in the world but instead he ended up making a perfume that only increases lust. The detective was totally bs. She left everything just to get a man's attention by using the list perfume. The whole making perfume using human glands didn't make sense because instead of perfume it became something like a potion. This isn't a fantasy movie then why were all those particles were flying like magic?
