When you were watching The Good Place, have you ever had the thought, "I wish Eleanor was a badly written and acted character, in a much worse story?" If so, this might be the movie for you! But even then, you might hate it because it's shockingly bad. The jokes don't even qualify as such, unless your idea of a joke is just, something gross happening for an extended length of time, or someone saying something rude or gross to someone else. There's no reason for the acting to be as bad as it is, as many of the actors are legitimately good, but they aren't even trying here. They all come off as if they're reading lines off a card, just here for a paycheck. I couldn't finish this awful movie, and can't even stand to even let it play muted in the background so I can give it a rating on Prime Video, THAT is how bad it is.

I'll start by saying something nice, it had high production value, and very lovely locations. It's a shame the plot, characters, dialog and other essential elements of a good movie were missing.
This is a poorly written, unfunny film. It was so awful I have to assume it was written by an AI, who took the elements of a funny movie but simply didn't understand how to write for a human audience. I've seen 3/10 star Hallmark movies with better developed plots and characters.
I genuinely like the actors in this film, but given the script there's no amount of talent that could have saved this movie.
I turned it off roughly 1 hour in, because I didn't care how it ended.

This movie is soooo boring.
I used to be love every movies with Kristen Bell. I think she is a very good and funny actress.
I love her in "the good place".
But not even your performance saved this movie.
The characters are so without charisma.
The father is a bad person. The mother is a bad person. The kids are bad person.
The only person who saves is the daughter.
She did everything to make them happy. And in return they did nothing for her.
She invited every person of that family for her wedding and in return nobody does anything for her.
I thought the actors in the cast were going to save the movie, but I was wrong.
But, watch to make your own conclusions! :)

Adorable family rom-com (as in it has a central family based story line... it is NOT suitable for children, adult kids only!) 😜
Yes, it's predictable.
Yes, it has all the clichés you can imagine.
Yes, it has a happy ending.
But this is the point of rom-coms... to make you feel good, smile, & laugh a little.
This movie did that for me, with fantastic actors who had great chemistry to make it feel real. And that's all that should be expected! Not sure what some of these other reviewers were expecting.
Will definitely be on my list of things to watch when I need a good laugh, a pick-me-up, or palette cleanser between heavier, darker media.

Enjoyable, although totally predictable. The actors all gave it their best, and is a funny, watchable sit-com type of movie. Allison Janey was wonderful, as always, and Kristen Bell is as cute, funny and lovable as ever. A lot of cussing, but what movie doesn't have that nowdays.
Made me laugh out loud a few times, but basically a sweet/sarcastic wedding story all about a grown up blended family, warts and all. I enjoyed it, and would recommend it for a light, funny comedy with some really good actors. The scenery and clothes were fun to see, and the wedding dress was so unique and spectacular!!!!!!!!

I didn't think this movie would stand a chance since it required an upfront exposition segment describing the contrived set-up of the wedding and why hostilities are brewing among the principal characters. However, after a while, the excessively honest one-liners started to land with acerbic precision, and I liked how the characters were exposed for their flaws and poor decisions. The cast headed by Allison Janney, Kristen Bell, and Ben Platt, is expert at executing physical comedy and delivering withering put-downs courtesy of the observant screenplay by Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux. Bell's and Platt's characters are pretty incorrigible, so this movie won't be for everyone.

This movie is just a bunch of scenes thrown together and I don't even think it's trying to be funny. To be honest I'm not sure exactly what this movie is meant to be. I went into it not knowing what to expect but I have enjoyed Kristen bell movies before, and I often watch movies with zero expectation and are presently surprised, but this is definitely not one of those times. Even the only nice (likeable) character - the guy from the plane who likes Alice, makes absolutely no sense she has displayed absolutely no reason why he should like her.
This movie is like they just threw everything that Netflix loves to include in movies in one giant incomprehensible mess. From divorced parents, multiple marriages, disapproval of gay sons, affairs, ... then mentioning everything on the other end of the scales and only using it it a negative way (the wife with the newborn is a psychopath)
You know when you watch a movie and the characters you initially detest grow and evolve and you want them to live happily ever after? Yea I didn't get that from these characters. I actually wanted them to live a missable life. I'm actually very surprised at the ending I expected the wedding to not go ahead. It would have fit more with the general feeling of the film.
I'd actually rate this as one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen in my life. There isn't really a better word to describe it. Even the "happy ending" didn't feel particularly happy LOL.

What a wonderful watch. I was excited to watch this one after seeing that Allison Janey and Kristen Bell were in it along with a bunch of other great actors. There were doses of humor sprinkled throughout. Relateable family issues. Awkward moments. Some great insights. Last, but not least, there were some great heartfelt moments. The cast did a great job and although the story was somewhat predictable, it was delivered as I believe it was intended. It is definitely a feel-good movie. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes that genre of movies. I have it saved to watch again at a later time.

And the writers, and the director, and myself for watching this piece of crap all the way to the end. It is one of the stupidest movies I've seen in a while. Point of personal privilege here: I'm going to focus on the gay couple. Not because it's worse than the other storylines. They're all equally AWEFUL!!! It seems that a lot of gay storylines lately center around whether or not to turn your relationship into a three-way. Ok, I'm gay, in a relationship for a while, know lots of other gay people, single and coupled, and literally NOT ONCE has that topic ever surfaced personally or through any of our friends. Not once. And yet, if you go by the latest films released, with gay characters, you'd think that that is the driving tension for all of us... Also, anal sex has to figure in prominently in our every day discussions about anything. And last, and then I'm done with this drek, the writers think it's hilarious that the main female's "boyfriend's" last name is Bottoms. Get it, bottoms??? Like anal sex bottoms??? That is SOOOOOOOO funny.... One can only hope that this mess sinks to the bottom (hahahah) of the sea and disappears forever.
