Almost seems like a knock on the real God. Even then if that wasn't the case this movie is legit on crack. Not worth your time. Skip it!

First off i will say its one of the most confusing movies i ever seen. Secondly its also one of the best Indy films i ever seen. The Nines kept me thinking and also kept me guessing. The movie is very very well put together. Great acting, as well as a terrific script. Ryan puts on a great show as all 3 characters This movie for fans of him of this genre is not one to be missed Also The DVD has some pretty cool extras and is great. To Me This Is A Rent But Nonetheless A Great Movie Just Not One I Would watch a lot. ''The Nines'' Gets A WellDeserved 9 from me.

"The Nines" starts with an actor named Gary (Ryan Reynolds) setting fire to his ex-girlfriend's clothes. He subsequently gets placed on house arrest while ostensibly his employers (the studio) sends a PR person to keep him in line. The first real signs that something's not right occurs when his neighbor Sarah (Hope Davis) confides in him that she can get him out of the dream he's in. From that point on it's a matter of holding our breath and hyper-focusing on everything to perhaps find out what is really going on. I liked "The Nines." It was a little different and mysterious, but mysterious in a way to hold my attention. It wasn't a bunch of action and hair-raising scenarios which was actually a welcome change. There was something amiss and we all knew it, there didn't need to be a grand spectacle to find out what it was with everyone being a suspect or in on the conspiracy. "The Nines" was a calmer suspense mystery.

I would probably give this film a 6.5, given its resolution and overall "meaning", which I found disappointing, and it did not emotionally reach me in the obvious way the filmmaker intended. However, it's rare that writers take risks anymore in developing original and creative story lines, even if slightly derivative, and people/critics tend to pile on anything that has mystery or twists/turns. So I must say 7, and applaud the risks taken here, and the rejuvenation of the concept of cinema as both entertainment and art. Plus, I'm just a big fan of mystery/horror/twilight zone/night gallery type stuff, and the acting is nice here too, especially from Hope Davis. So thank you John August for giving this one a shot.

I was really shocked to see this movie get a 7 on 10 rating. What an utter waste of time this was! Although I wouldn't quite want to interpret it's mysterious and stupid ending, it's just not worth a watch, trust me. I really felt like breaking the TV screen as the end was approaching. It starts off pretty well, keeps you guessing for a while, then it becomes predictable and then, the inevitable happens, you feel like reaching for your gun and shooting the director, script-writer and every other person involved in the making of this garbage. I give it 3 stars for making me wonder for 2 whole minutes (in the middle of the movie), where the story will go! And then, it just gets plain boring! I repeat BAD BAD BAD!

Im just not too sure what to think of this film .. mostly weird and I'm sure this probably went way over my head - 3 films in one with a combining storyline ... i dunno what all that was about, but i'd definitely score this film 2/10 tops to save the 99mins i've lost from my life forever! I think it got too complicated and i found it too difficult at times to understand the story, I watch a lot of films and I think this film could have been made a lot better, entertaining and thought provoking should it have been kept a lot simpler. On the plus side tho - the cinematography and acting was actually good - shame about the story line sorry guys i'd love to rate this with a much higher score but .. i cant!

This film is all about the possibilities of the beyond. How far can you stretch your imagination? I honestly have no idea how this movie has been rated so low, it really is beyond me. It's hard to say what this film's about without spoiling it, so I'll just say watch it and open your mind to the very edges of your mind's horizon. The movie is cut into 3 parts all containing the same actors, who play different roles in each part. It ties together in the end very nicely. The concept is pretty magical. Advice: If you read gossip mags, idolise the Kardashians, watch programs like Big Brother or anything on ITV you'll hate this movie as there's not enough glitter. Not that it's for the humble intellectual, but it's suited to people with imagination and a questioning nature.

this was one of the worst things i have seen in my life!!!it was disgusting...the actors played like they didn't want to play. the worst part is that one of the main characters was a fat annoying girl that made you wanna break your screen.i thought that the worst film i have ever seen was fantastic 4 rise of silver surfer but this one was even worse i mean if i could get back my 2 hours and electricity i would.even napoleon dynamite was better. ............ .......... ;((((((((((((( i don't know why but i9 have to fill up 10 lines...... ..... ........ . ............. ...... ... .... ... ........ ............. ............. ..... ... ........ . .... ..... ... .... ..........boring...... ... ........................
