This film cost at least a few million dollars. It's not like it was a high school film project, so people had to discuss this in some sort of serious manner. You have to wonder on the scripts Hollywood passes on if something this horrible is green-lighted. There is so little to this film that it doesn't even merit a review. It would have made a mediocre 30 minute TV episode; as a feature it is a complete disaster.

At the bottom it's asking me if I am revealing any spoilers? Let me tell you I really wish I had a spoiler to reveal, like in ending. I was pleasantly surprised by William Fitchners character. He is usually the rogue FBI guy or the bad guy etc. etc. but in this movie he was very mild mannered very shy very meek I have never seen this side to him before. I loved this part for him and he played it beautifully. What I didn't like was not knowing what happened after he sat down and looked at his tomato. I didn't know If he was suicidal I didn't know if he was going to go back to the house and say hey I was defending myself or if his wife was going to come in and be the wife that she is or the Alex blah blah blah or if The car salesman was going to possibly show up in a skirt with a wig because you know he can pull that off really well. I'm just angry because I'm sick and tired of movies that don't have an ending to them or an ending that makes any sense William Fechner, You are awesome you played your part beautifully it was really nice to see you as a good guy🐾💕

A mindful, slow-paced (I would also say perfectly-paced) film with outstanding acting from William Fichtner, who draws out a very empathetic character with subtle shades of emotions in the main role. If Rectify is your kind of series, then this is probably your kind of film, sharing at least something of its bittersweet, yearning feel and sensitivity. The 'Danger lives next door' line used in the advertising perhaps suggests an altogether more action-led plot and possibly does not attract the appropriate audience for the reflective kind of film that it is. Music is used very sparsely and very fittingly.

Well, I've put that this review contains spoilers! Well people, the spoiler is that there is no story at all. An extreeeeemly boring film with William Fichtner acting like he has a stiff neck. The storyline was non-existent. I thought things were going to hot up in the final 8th minute or so, but only for about 2 seconds and then it went to boring again. Steer away people.

Waste of my time. This should not be a thriller. Slow and then you end it with no resolution. He's shown with a pretty decent relationship with his wife but she wants him out why? I thought he was autistic. Look at something else.

I am unsure as to why this film has been labelled, even partially, as a thriller?! Anyone who goes into this thinking it is a thriller will be disappointed. However, if you head in with the mindset of a slow building suspenseful and psychological drama then you will love it, as that is exactly what it is and delivers beautifully. The shots are well thought out and Fichtner give a sterling portrayal of the upper middle class smouldering midlife crisis in a suburban backdrop, which really sells the character and his first world woes. The ending for me took a bit of a physical turn but was as good as it could have been and kept me engaged to the very end. Solid film, terrible genre label!

Thought it was a perfect film to be honest. Slow-paced (my FAVORITE), but there is a lot of subtly in the character that William portrayed. Films like these ones you have to be patient and watch the movie inside of the movie as so to speak. You have to be an open minded when you watch this. If you are just looking for a thriller action packed movie or a plot to kind of just tell the whole theme for you scene by scene, then this is not your film! The mood is very calm in this movie, but it's sad also. Kind of minds me of American Beauty a bit but even more depressive. I loved it!

My only connection with this film was the beloved William Fichtner, Master of Supporting Actors. But even his presence here couldn't save this mistake. All ingredients of The Neighbore are one big laugh to all movie fans. Story, cast and plot are far below zero, it's a shame and a complete waste of money to realize such boring movies. Nothing happens in 90 minutes, so the best thing is to use this flick as a sleep maker in case you are suffering from insomnia. And whenever you notice some relation problems, you're right, it's all about that. But instead of councelling sessions for the neighbors, writers, director and their main crew should go in therapy before making another attempt to enjoy us, movie fans. I was just waiting 90 minutes for something to happen but there's nothing to mention here other than this advice: avoid watching this so-called thriller/drama; nothing to thrill and the only drama happens inside yourself, left behind in boredom with a touch of bitterness.

Aside from some decent acting, this movie was a wash. Pace was soooo slow. Plot was uninteresting. I kept waiting for something to happen. I should have turned it off then, but I watched til the end and wasted my time. I cannot say enough how boring and just a complete waste of time this movie was.
