Started off good, and had an interesting story throughout. But, as it went along things became a bit jumbled and low budget. The nanny's costume towards the end was awful - they would have been better off without it. So, so close to a good movie.

I thought the concept of the movie was interesting but there were plot holes. Had the story been more fleshed out I think it would've been better. I loved the fairy storyline and the acting is good. The fast climax at the end leaves the story feeling too rushed. It was nice to see that movie didn't turn out to be just the same old evil nanny horror trope we've seen before. I just think had there been more time put into developing the story it wouldve made for a much better movie.

It was so stupid. The dialog was hilariously atrocious. You know that girl that really likes horses, adult coloring books, The Labyrinth, and considers herself a writer? She wrote this movie.

This was a good movie, some of the acting was not that great, but the main characters pulled it off. Great cinematography. The only flaw is that it felt like a newer version or remake of "The Guardian" (1990) with Jenny Seagrove. Begins with a family that loses a child to druid-esque monsters in the woods. Then move to a family who needs a Nanny that just shows up (not on the list). She is connected to the woods (again like The Guardian), and not nice. It is a good film. I enjoyed it. The woman who plays the Nanny does a GREAT job!

Biggest issue i had was when the drunk man told the girl to use iron against the fairy's and which she did.It was effective as the nanny/fairy could not enter the room and you could see her appereance change but how did the little girl hang that piece of iron above the door when she is a fairy herself?

Jaime Murray is a truly superb actress and one of my all time favourites especially in the role of the baddie! She can make even the flattest movie stand proud but I am afraid not even her magnificent baddie performance can elevate this above the average which is such a shame as it could have been given a better twist and ended up as good as the Kevin Costner film "The New Daughter" - Now that was an inventive and very scary horror movie. Its been done before with "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" and "The Guardian" and they tried to give it a new twist. The cgi faeries were very well done - A bit like Del Toros "Dont be afraid of the dark" but there are few and far between appearances of them which is a shame as they elevate the movie beyond your usual stalk in the dark woods. I certainly wouldnt give the movie a low 1 or two star review its worth far more than that. Reviewers seem to forget as I keep saying that 1 means its the worst movie you have ever seen. Have you seen "THE BAD BATCH" or "THE HUMANITY BUREAU" yet - Watch them and then tell me this is a 1 star review which is very unfair!

I guess Im going to have to explain the second half of the film because some of the audience is so completely brain dead, unless they cant comprehend a new idea. This film is original, so they just had "unanswered questions". I will answer all of them, because its not that complicated. 1) The Nanny is not a bad guy. She is Noa's real mother. She is a fairy, a protector tasked with getting fairy kids that ended up in human orphanages back into the fairy realm. 2) The Earlking is a bad fairy, who wants to kidnap fairy children for his army. 3) Ella, the girl seemingly kidnapped in the beginning of the movie was not kidnapped. She was a fairy, and simply went where she belonged. Her father, David( played by Xander), couldn't accept this, and started hunting and killing fairies over the MISUNDERSTANDING, that she was a little girl who was TURNED into a fairy by other fairies. But that was never true. Fairies are born fairies, even thought they looks like human kids at first. 4) At the end, David kidnaps Noa, because he knows that she is a fairy. The reason he does it is because he hates fairies and wants to kill them, and also hopes he can grab an older fairy to interrogate to find his daughter. 5) The tree thing with horns is an evil fairy known as the Earlking. 6) Micheal and Noa were never human children. Just like Ella they were fairies. They just did not know this. 6) The Nanny died in the end. Weakened by fighting David, she was killed by the Earlking protecting Micheal and Noa. For this reason, Noa and Micheal remained with their human mother, now knowing their are fairies, but electing to stay in this world for longer. Noa has wings, and enjoys flying, she is the same type of fairy as the nanny( her biological mother). Officer Frank is now dating Anna. They make a happy family, despite realizing the two kids are not human, they are open minded enough to accept this. 7) The reason the Nanny was so strict about the bed time was to protect Noa and Micheal from the fairy child stealing Earlking. OK? I thought all of this was quite obvious. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask, and I'm sure I or anyone else with a brain can answer you.

The Nanny was a pick and mix movie for me, I went in knowing nothing but was happy to see Jaime Murrays name pop up on the opening credits. I would class her as one of my favourite actresses and just don't think she gets the recognition she deserves. Here in The Nanny she puts in a career best performance, but in the end it simply didn't matter. The Nanny tells the story of a single mother who (Shocker) finds herself needing a nanny for her two children. In comes Ms Murray who is a mysterious woman that everyone deems perfect for the job, except the daughter. Truth be told the first half of The Nanny is excellent, it's so well crafted, beautifully shot and gripping. Then the second half comes and it all falls apart, I mean really badly! A combination of silliness, poor sfx and rushed concepts ruin what was primed and ready to be an excellent film. Part horror, part fantasy this dark fairytale also stars Nicholas "Xander from Buffy" Brendon and Schuyler "Country Singer" Fisk. It's heartbreaking to me when a film with such potential falls apart as badly as this did. I would love to see someone reshoot/rewrite the second half as it has unlimited potential! Sadly it's potential squandered, though Murray is excellent and the first half is very enjoyable the rest of the film is an utter mess. The Good: First half Jaime Murray Masterfully shot The Bad: Second half Some goofy sfx Lots of unanswered questions Things I Learnt From This Movie: Jaime Murray seems to connect herself to flawed movies It's always nice to see Nicholas Brendon take time out of his busy schedule of prison to make movies

Everything wrong in this movie Incoherent story, bad acting, nonsensical scenes how does someone invite a stranger to use the toilet, let them in and stop worrying about him and not say goodbye to the person, lol a movie made by amateurs and with no credibility whatsoever one of the worst of the year
