The first one was a bit mental. It was funny and had an over the top villain in Robert Patrick. Now we have another die hard in a hotel. Good old Ted is not a star, and not an action star at all. In fact he is the worse thing in this movie. He hardly has any lines in the movie, which is good, and the fight scenes are a little lethargic. Thank good then for Rooker and Morrison, who save the whole thing and make it just that little bit watchable for the audience at home. The plot is silly, and as you would expect from a 'Die Hard on/in a.....' movie, we get the damsel in distress, the wisecracking sort of partner, and the army who don't like one man taking over. There are some awful pyrotechnics, and you know when they are going to happen, because Ted jumps in the air in slow motion. There is a fight at the end, involving explosions and a jump off a boat, but nothing else. It's run of the mill stuff, not unwatchable, but don't expect to see Ted in a film anytime soon

this movie was actually worse than the first one. i gave the first one 1 star this movie deserves no stars. this is a waist of money. Ted dibiase was horrible in this. his acting was horrible and another question to the wwe. why put a wrestler thats not even close to star power in a movie like this. the plot was just boring. Ted dibiase mostly stayed in a safe camp site while his wife was held hostage. yeah he really cares about his wife. and when he did go try and save her the movie was over in 15, 20 minutes. at first i was surprised a sequel to a financially successful film was released direct to DVD. now i see why.i had high expectations for this film then i find out it is a piece of crap. don't see this movie.

I thought this movie was just going to be a cheap action movie, and nothing better then the first one. I still feel the first one was much better. Story and everything it was better. This one was not bad, just not better then the first one. What I liked about this one is Joe (DiBiase) was more hardcore. You could really tell he would do anything to get his girl back. He was a hero that had no problem killing the villains. He didn't just hit them and tell them to play nice. He really pulled of that part in my opinion. I feel the movie was good on its own, but its another one of those movies that as nothing to do with the first movie. To me usually that makes the movie awful, but as long as you just think of this movie as something else it was pretty good. Nothing amazing but really good. Jeff

Marine sergeant Joe Linwood (played by Ted DiBiase) and his wife Robin (Lara Cox) take an exotic getaway to a tropical resort where Joe can get away from the stress of his career. But things never end up the way they should in an action-packed movie. The island resort is taken over by fanatic terrorists with an agenda against the resort developer, missing Joe in the ensuing carnage, which was the last mistake they would make. Using his Marine training and a little bit of outside help, Joe is able to save the hostages and his wife while eliminating the terrorists in violent fashion. Ted DiBiase does come off as a believable killing machine at times during the movie and his character seems to have a tactician's mind during parts of it, yet I did have issues with a trained sniper running through a courtyard taking out terrorists and not taking any visible weapons at the time. Michael Rooker also came off well as an old soldier who was just tired of the career and ready for his downtime on a faraway island, but came through in the end for someone who needed and deserved his help. Lara Cox also came off as a legit service wife, expressing the longing and the understanding when he was on missions, and the live in the moment attitude when he was with her. Overall, the movie is a good GUY movie, a chance to get together with the buds and watch explosions, gunfire, and a single man save the day. I'd recommend this for the guys' afternoon. 'The Marine 2' is boring film, with zero entertainment value. It has a predictable plot, it has a lot action, a few smooches and anything we have visited a thousand times before. Such films promise entertainment, but over-here the promise is not fulfilled. There is only plus point of the and that is Ted Jr. He's a good wrestler and his energy is quite good. He's the sole saving grace. But what is a talented actor like Michael Rooker doing in this film? He's wasted. This film is a poor show all the way. Watch Cena's 'The Marine' again instead.

I really love films like this. Although graphic novels are my favorite military movies are a close second. Wwe superstars have a good eye for taking on scripts that involve a lot of stunt work blowing stuff up and being an action hero. It wasn't as good as the first marine cuz John cena is the original of the marine making him better but John is also more hardcore then Ted. Ted on the other hand really impressed me with his performance he really made feel like he was a marine and for a director to feel a performance is good. Not to mention the fact that the entire film was shot on location no sets at an actual village in phuket. The director chose to shoot on location to give a sense of realism to the film. Ted was jumping through peoples houses on there furniture and everything and everything. The hotel was real there people on holiday there while the crew blew stuff up and Ted fought his way into the hotel it was a crazy but breathtaking way to shoot a picture. The amount of action in the film paces the story along at a nice speed as well. A great piece.

The movie has great special effects and it is a fun movie. It is suspenseful at times. Anyways, it's a fun movie that you should buy. Ted Dibiase, did better than most would expect and it's his first film. He knew how to act like a tough guy and it flowed perfectly. Great Job, wwe films. The only problem I have with this movie is a lot of the fight scenes were slow and that takes a good amount away from an "action movie." anyways, it was a great movie, I suggest that you get this movie. Even though, it is rated R, it can be watched with a family that is mature enough to handle action scenes. Great Job, Ted. It seems like Ted was made for this role.

I didn't expect much when I was given this movie to watch since it was a WWE movie. But I did have some optimism since Ted Dibiease was the main actor as he has shown he is a great actor in the WWE ring. I did not get to watch the original Marine but I believe the stories are not related and that it is just a sequel in the sense that it is about another particular Marine. Well now to the movie, it started off with a bang and it made me glued to the screen thinking good things will continue to happen in this movie. Unfortunately the movie slowly dipped down due to the long time it took for the story to pick up the pace after the beautiful intro. But post-interval the movie picked up to its action roots, and the action looked believable which is a rarity in movies these days. Dibiease was able to showcase his acting talents through facial expressions as he did not have many lines that a main actor would. Had the directer been better able to tighten the plot and the writers been able to write better dialogue preferably for Joe (Ted Dibiease) the movie would have done much better since it had good action and a decent story albeit some loopholes. If you are interested in watching a good action movie to entertain you then I suggest you go rent this or buy it. If your interested in something with a great story with powerful dialogues then you may wanna give it a miss. I give this movie a 6.8/10.
