One of the most weird movie Ive seen.
A priest with a gift that can cure people who's blind and almost died.
What did he do with that totally unbelievable gift?
Jesse James thought it was a good idea to sniff a lot of cocaine, drive around with his cute girlfriend who's only goal in her life was to shopping some nice bags and shoes. And off course he and his girlfriend kills cops for no reason.
It could have been a story of an sick comedian movie but i don't think that was the meaning with this film.

I'm a fan of Jesse James. This is the 1st time seeing him in an adult role. Did a great job! Note to his Agent: Get rid of all the pix of Jesse as a kid from his IMDb page. He's an adult actor now.

The movie opens up with a preacher snorting coke (over the top) and then goes into a monolgue of him telling you how screwed up his life is and how he can't live without his girlfriend. His dad, a mean SOB, seems to be hated by the son and mother. She (the mother) is the good, and he (the father) is the bad. Combined, this is the creation of their son, Junior. The movie then opens up to the couple (Junior and Girlfriend) hitting the road and pretending to be a good preacher and wife, while all along scamming churches up and down Route 66. I don't want to spoil the movie, so I will just say there is no lack of drugs and killing in this movie. Then there is the supernatural factor too. The filmmaker did a fairly okay job with the special effects (could be better). Over all I enjoyed the movie and recommend it. PS- I spotted the "Blue Swallow Motel" - that is a kick ass motel in Tucumcarri, NM. (Plug for them)

One of the worst films I have ever seen. The actors can't act, the script must have been the idea of a teenager high on coke who have never written anything before but have seen a few films with a similar plot. There were visual effects that reminded me of some of the Indian serials which I would consider to be worse than * artistically speaking. Such a waste of time and energy.

I love movies about preachers. I remember "Pale Rider" with Clint Eastwood got me hooked. Men of the Cloth are people too. Jimmy Bakker taught us that. So many people go to church, and in front of them they watch a man tell them how to be good and honorable. "The Lucky Man" shows the other side of preacher types... they are all human beings, and yes they carry with them sin. "The Lucky Man" portrays a desperate soul who falls short of being perfect (he loves drugs, alcohol, and will kill when necessary). I found the movie entertaining but lacked in OSCAR winning performances.

I've watched Jesse James mature over the years from his roles in Amityville Horror, Blow, and Pearl Harbor. The grown up version of James is making his mark. Liking what I see. I enjoyed his part on "The Good Doctor" Season 1. Good for you Mr. James.

I took the ride with "The Lucky Man". It was a hell of a ride. The movie travels you through New Mexico's desert managing to hit all the Route 66 towns along the way. I love Route 66 BTW. The preacher is able to scam his way into several cash flows to get to the next town. His unrelenting need for cocaine is mind blowing (literally). Grab a bottle of vodka and enjoy the ride.
