this wasn't the movie i was expecting.i thought it would be clever and thought provoking.i was half right it.was thought provoking.it tries to be clever,but only succeeds in being too clever for it's own good.it's just way too convoluted with ridiculous plot twist after plot twist.the final plot twist is not logical and comes out of thin air.it's not predictable,because it doesn't make sense and isn't realistic.it seems almost tacked on.there are some good dramatic moments and some suspense here,along with good acting.Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet are both fine.as i said,the movie will make you think.it does bring up relevant,topical issues.but when you get right down to it,it isn't believable.and that ending sinks it.my vote for the Life Of David Gale is a 5/10

For those people (and I am sure there are many) who have even been wronged by the so called justice system, this is an excellent movie, and those that think that the US judicial systems is great - this an eye opener. It has been my favorite movie ever since I saw it first. Even after reading the script which I found online I believe that is excellently written, directed and acted. The story line, the execution of scenes portraying different events is remarkable. To some, it might be necessary to watch the movie more than once to understand some of the events as there is a lot of back and forth in the time line as David Gale tells the story. The casting manager could not have done a better job. Although I have always considered Kevin Spacey as one of the better actors ever, after this film I would like to say that he is for sure the best.

The most distressing movie I have ever seen. I would guarantee that this is the one movie that you wouldn't forget for a long time. Though the entire movie is wrapped up in a melancholic tone, there is something that sticks one to watch this movie till the very end. There are moments that give you hope in the plot, but it was the ending that makes you shell shock. I rate this movie high for the unique experience it offers. This is a very serious movie and is not at all recommended for those highly inclined to predictable happy ending regular movies. But the experience this one offers is worth a try.

I thought this movie was very, very, good. It is unimaginable that people can believe in their convictions so strongly. But, I suppose that they can. The acting was great. The story was great. I can't believe I am just now getting around to seeing this movie. I definitely say if you haven't seen it, DO so!! If you are for the death penalty, after seeing this movie, you may have second thoughts?? I know that I have. This is one of the best movies I have seen and one that leaves you thinking long after you have watched it. It is also one that you have to pay close attention to or you may be wondering about the ending.

Kevin Spacey is outstanding in the thriller. The rest of the cast is very good. This film keeps you on the edge of your seat, and is a must see movie. People who enjoy a suspenseful movie will certainly enjoy this well done flick. Don't wait for the DVD go see it, it certainly is worth the price of admission in this day of silly movies.

Its a film asking is it right to have the death penalty in a civilised society? it asks the question through a story of one man, and attempts to suprise with a clever twist at the finish.Its well acted and engaging enough, but truly i saw the ending an hour before it arrived,im sure pretty much everybody in the theatre did too,and since the message in the film was obvious throughout,the film depended on its ending for any real punch, an ok film but not repeat viewing.

What's Gale's motive to ask for Bloom's help? The case is widely known he does not need her to cover his story but it is just to fool the viewers so the viewers will not see the twist in the end.... And how come she can come out with the answers just within a few days... And the first thing she notice is the feet moving.. She told its unnatural and that means Constance is doing it to herself? Constance is suffocating for real how can she be so calm unlike Bloom when she tested it..

Unfortunately, this was the only movie I hadn't seen playing on a flight from Heathrow to Newark. SO, I watched it. Big mistake. It's a poorly attempted damning indictment of everything even remotely right-leaning. William Bennett is bashed in what is meant to be a trendy, off-the-cuff joke made by Spacey's character but which was obviously forced into the script just to poke fun at those knuckle-dragging far-right ultra conservatives. The governor of Texas (we all know who this was supposed to be) comes off as a bumbling, bible thumping idiot with an IQ lower than Forrest Gump. Every person executed is apparently innocent and falsely convicted. We're supposed to break down crying like Laura Linney when an admitted cop killer is executed. It's a hollywood liberal's dream film: it gets to slam its own propaganda down your throat while attacking anything and everything conservative. Avoid.
