I liked the idea. It was pretty cool doing the time travel thing. It is also much better than the original Holiday Special.

This is a short 44 minute special about the sequel trilogy gang celebrating Life Day while Rey is teaching Finn how to be Jedi. Rey gets frustrated with her teachings and decides to leave and go seek guidance from former Jedi's with time travel. While doing this she messes up a lot of stuff and creates a fun little adventure that also has a little Christmas carol feel.

Average Lego movie. Does have more holes then aged Swiss cheese and some missed potential but overall worth a watch of you want some dumb fun Lego fun.

I see people either loving this or hating this and honestly it doesn't matter to me what your opinion is, what I find rather strange though is that on both sides people are taking this far more seriously than it should be. It's a lego retelling of the Skywalker Saga, with some time travel thrown in to make in a fun messy ride. If you want it to be canon because you thought it was great, I'm happy for you. If you hated it, and pretend like it doesn't want to exist, you have every right to do so. There is no need to belittle other people for thinking this canon, and having differing opinions on the content. Personally, I took it at face value and enjoyed the wacky ride. I don't think it needs to be canon but if it winds up being canon I wouldn't care all too much. I played a lot of lego games as a kid, especially lego Star Wars, so I felt like I could connect a little bit more with this holiday special. I'm even not so fond of the sequels myself, but the way the integrated the three eras together was nice to see even though I would've like to see a little more prequel callbacks. Also, if they did Clone Wars callbacks it would've been the cherry on top because Matt Lanter and James Arnold Taylor did the voices of Anakin and Obi-Wan respectively. Both of them also starred in the clone wars animated tv show, portraying the Jedi! I hope everyone enjoyed something out of this.

This a really fun watch with a lot of references and in-jokes about Star Wars that maybe you wouldn't expect them to make fun of themselves about. The story is also very clever in ways it uses the characters. It makes good fun of Palpatine knowing that Vader will betray him, and then trying to replace him with Kylo Ren. There are even things that happen with sequel characters you wish actually happened in the sequel trilogy. I only have a couple issues. It drags whenever they cut back to scenes on the Falcon. The time travel story is where it's at. The movie also doesn't seem to acknowledge that Palpatine returned and that Rey is related to him. There were many missed opportunities for comedy using those ideas.
