Well, the movie is not a bad movie, maybe some people could find it a little long or maybe not scary enough, but is well acted.
It could be more developed in writing but for an independent movie is okay. Certainly there are a lot of recent bad independent movies so I think that thisovie is entertaining enough.
The scary parts is not well developed in a psychological way and the leading character don't allow us to care more about her, because she seems so vehement in some attitudes. The police guy is a good actor but I think his character could be developed better.
If you like a decent acting and a decent story that can scare you sometimes, you could enjoy this movie.

The lead's doe-eyed discoveries after having a baby in a coma aren't enough to keep the tension this film needs to be an effective horror. The family secrets and plot twists slowly leak out instead of grabbing you.

Everyone in this film, aside from the actor playing Frank is just flat and boring. The perpetual victimhood of the lead actress and the over abundance of the lead actors teeth...it's all just too much.
There's so much scenery chewing in this film that I'm surprised there's any set left by the end of the first 15 minutes. This film is full of tropes we've already seen in other movies. This isn't a horror, it is trying to be something between The Changeling and Rosemary's baby and fails both miserably. Random creepy dead children with no connection to anything does not a storyline make.
Say yourself the boredom and go watch Rick and Morty.

The was a well thought out and planned film. Good story. Good flow. Good acting. In order for me to truly enjoy a film, it has to be cohesive. This was. The ghost children were just the right amount of creepy. Nice twist in there too. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Went in without any expectation, except a little bit of thought of being disappointed. In the end, I'm actually surprised that this movie isn't as bad as a lot of horros I've seen over time.... I know as of right now 4 out of 10 isn't the best rating at all, but I think it's a bit better than that.
It starts out slow and cliche and a lot of...questionable things happen. But I just think the way the story goes, it isn't as bad once you're a little sucked into it.
All n' all, there are better horros out there, but certainly, also worse...
that's why I think this still deserves a solid 6.0
was a good watch for one time.

This is one of those movies that suffers from sitting on the fence between two genres, and not fully satisfying either. Really, it is a thriller with slight supernatural overtones, which are never totally explored in any depth. The acting is good throughout, although I did find the leads constant state of helplessness a little wearying. In my personal opinion, I think it would have worked better as a straight out psychological thriller, as the supernatural side didn't really add anything to the story.

Decent acting and cast , story was weak and very slow. It felt like i was watching a lifetime movie . Not at all scary . You have seen it all before, predictable and boring .Would not reccommend.

I have no issue with the acting or the directing but the story was very drawn out and not thought out that well at all. By the half mark I had already grown patient and completely bored. At the end of the movie I didn't care about anyone not even the baby and missing kids there just was no connection to anyone or anything.

There's a lot of slow burn psychological thrillers / horrors floating around these days.
Some not knowing what they want to be, or what they really are?
You can go into these films having higher expectations and being sorely mislead.
'The kindred' is a refreshing example of doing everything right and not trying to over achieve.
It knows what it wants to be and with a few unexpected surprises.
Things kick off really quick and just when you think it's nearing a drag it really picks up and doesn't stop right up-to the end.
For me its the characters that really drive events, portrayed all round by some real talent. There's a lot of actors in this I really admire, some I'd even go to say are highly underrated who fit they're roles perfectly and turn in some insanely strong performances.
A slight misconception as being a 'horror' maybe, some ghostly shock moments (executed very well) add to what is more a very dark murder mystery / thriller that wouldn't look out of place next the likes of a series such as 'Luther' or an abundance of bbc / uk film successes.
That being said, for an independent UK based film it's looks well polished, well directed and executed.
The script is well crafted and well researched.
Loved the score, really adds to atmosphere in scenes.
Really glad I experienced it and highly recommended it.
