I have little knowledge on Jane Austen, apart from the movies & discussions of her stories. This movie is definitely catered to women's ego and the movie surrenders to women's massaged thoughts and feelings. The "feel-good" notion stretches and supports the dreamy eyed troubles related with the females involved. Good luck finding a straight man believing in the fantasy and the depiction in been involved in such a group involvement. Did I give to much???... correct me if I did.

This is the story of 6 people, all connected to each other and Jane Austen in different ways. Each of them starts in a bad place of some sort, and through Jane and each other, they each learn lessons about life and love. Sappy? Not really. I did not have high hopes for this movie, but I loved it by the end. This movie made me want to read more Jane Austen. Like right away. I have read only two of her books and I know that after I read the rest this movie will be doubly pleasing. However, I still immensely enjoyed the movie. It is endearing, funny and enjoyable. In the beginning I had a hard time keeping the characters straight, however by the end I was smiling way to much at how everything turned out. All in all, a very lovely chick flick. :)

Every time I read a Jane Austin book I CA relate to it. I find her books like mirrors to real life despite they were written in a different email. And that is where the greatness of Jane Austin works lay.

Stupid, no funny bones in any of the actors and an insult to the audience.. Typical women making movies intended for women who lack any knowledge hence movies. I can't believe the rating is so high. The script is probably made by some women who graduated from a school and I'm a woman.

If you would like to see more of a "real world" lesbian story watch the British film "Imagine Me & You" it's a wonderfully done not "over the top" real story. . .It starts with a wedding like any other marriage of a young man and woman who happen to meet their florist for the first time (though I can't imagine why this would be on their wedding day) who is a lesbian. Her and the recently married woman bond over fishing her wedding ring out of the punch bowl. What follows is what might follow in any real-world situation of falling in and out of love with unexpected people. . . Look and see if you can get this from your local video store because it is a completely underrated movie that deserves much more credit than it is given.
