After hearing his interview, rewatched the movie this morning... yesterday I watched it based on the trailer... which was deceiving ... I'm a true horror fan and hardcore so I went into this movie thinking so based on the trailer. Today I watched it with open mind... it's a good movie .. the actors were great.. storyline is good and I did enjoy it.. I like to watch all horror based movies no matter what it is.. I should have not base first time watching on a trailer... they are deceiving at times... and I know that. Good movie... great acting and work !!! And I agree, this is NOT "pure" horror, as he says. It just goes to show the power of an accurate trailer. Something else happened that I didn't expect, and that is after knowing all the twists, I actually enjoyed the second viewing more. I'm not sure how they could have done that without giving everything away, though.

Someone on here rated this movie a 1 along with a "spoiler" that the "dad sells the kid's soul to the devil." The same person is spreading this online too. Uh....did you even watch the movie? No. You didn't. Yes. You're right about one thing. This movie is low budget. But that's where your review ends for me. Everything else about this movie is well done. What they didn't have in money they made up for with great characters, plot, emotion, suspense, music, and twists. Added points for originality too. I recommend to anyone with patience to watch a clever plot unfold and I look forward to watching it again myself.

This film was well written, acting was great and has a good storyline with twists and turns. This movie keeps you engaged and makes you think until the very end. The film is not really scary or gory, but full of suspense and mystery. If you like the supernatural, this film is for you. It is not another creepy kid movie or exorcist movie but more of a family's journey to get to the bottom of a mystery to save their daughter, with a lot of twists and turns along the way. Will Klipstine is fabulous in this movie with his acting and directing, All of the actors do a great job. I will definitely be watching this movie again. My family and I enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what Will Klipstine has in store next for us.

First time on this site but I must comment on this amazing movie I saw at an independent film festival. I've now seen it twice (bought it) but I can't explain how stellar the acting is without giving spoilers. There are multiple twists in this movie, but I only need to give away two to exemplify my point. First of all, it's not a spoiler to say a "Harbinger" is a person sent to a town to get people to kill themselves by dropping an evil relic within the vicinity of the victim. The relic influences the person to commit suicide, so Lucifer can have their soul forever. The film doesn't really go into graphic detail about it, but that's what a Harbinger's job is - to drop the relic near someone (doom them). The spoiler is that the main character, the dad in this movie, is The Harbinger. This is not a main twist in the movie, however, and an astute observer may even notice that the first scene in the movie shows the dad entering a room with a hanging body to retrieve the relic he has left there. The dad has a justified reason why he dropped the relic on this individual, but he struggles with his conscience and can't bring himself to doom any others. The devil knows this, which is why he has taken the girl's spirit hostage, to hold as collateral to force the dad to be a Harbinger. The daughter is not really possessed, she's just sort of a vacant, evil (sort of) vessel who observes the devil's actions with little emotion. The taking of her soul has already happened before the film begins and gets explained fairly early on. The second twist I'm going to reveal here, is that the town of St. Heraldson that the dad and his family have been sent to (by the devil) isn't just a town he's been sent to in order to do the work of a "Harbinger." It's literally Hell on Earth. What the Harbinger (the dad) doesn't know is that not only is the town Hell on Earth, but it's a town full of EX-Harbingers, intended to force current Harbingers that are no longer effective into retirement (AKA get them to kill themselves so the devil can get their souls). Those are the only two twists I need to give away to make my point here. The dad's acting here is flawless. Knowing he's the Harbinger and seeing how perplexed he is and trying to negotiate his confusion with what job he has to do, the fact he can't do it, and seeing his anguish over having to find another way to get his daughter's soul back from the devil is outstanding. His acting range is shown again in flashbacks when his daughter was normal. They are moments that really got me. And it's an opportunity to see the father and daughter show other sides of their personalities - again, great acting on both their parts. Upon my first viewing, the main actors were great, but I thought some of the minor roles were odd. After seeing it a second time, I need to praise the acting across the board. Knowing those two twists just made all of the acting so much more colorful and compelling, minor roles along with the majors. The dad's acting is unbelievably on point every scene once you know what you know. Again, they give it away in the first scene, but most people won't really know what to make of it, nor do they need to know. The great thing about this movie is that the audience is either going to watch it as a mystery and watch everything get revealed in it's own time, or people will watch it knowing the spoilers and in my opinion, enjoy it just as much or more. Because this is a low budget movie that can't rely on effects or big budget, the acting must be top notch. And it's phenomenal, whether you know the twists or not. And for me, it got even better. I'm writing this review in the hopes the world discovers this great film.

Dude carries this movie. Reminds me kind of a cross between Nic Cage and Keanu. You don't know what he's up to the first half the movie. His pain over his daughter is gut-wrenching. Once we learn something (won't give spoilers) he becomes a badass and we're on board with him the rest of the way. A movie can have any kind of trinkets or mythos it wants if it has a lead character who can hold down the fort and get you there. He's got the goods. Looking forward to what he does next. He directed this, I think, so as far as him as a filmmaker I think with a lesser lead actor this movie would have felt a little long, but because he's compelling the movie felt right. I've now seen this twice after reading reviews. His performance is even better in the first half when you know what you know. Same with the other people.

I'm not the imdb type. But I have never seen a movie this original. I told a guy and he said he knows someone who worked on it. He said the best way I could help them is to say what I told him to imdb because "the trailer is misleading." I don't give false praise. Yeah, it may not be really a "horror" movie, but I dare anyone to guess what happens, horror fan or not. If you are watching this movie because it's a horror movie, don't. Watch it because you want to see what happens next. This is a "where is this story going" type of movie. And it doesn't go where you think. I promise. The main actors are all good, the smaller parts are weird, but I don't want to ruin anything. Every time I thought this movie was going to be another version of a movie I've seen, it wasn't. I have to tip my cap. Truly excellent. Original. No other words.
