A movie that I quote all the time... this movie is awesome... so funny....look at the cast and believe any review that says it's any lower than 8/10 ...smh at the 5.5/10 rating it has... hidden gem.

I was totally on board for this movie. The characters were all solid and memorable and even though the plot was out there I was invested enough in in the cast to follow it. There is an excellent cast with some nice cameos and Jeremy Piven does a great job as the slick sales person and as a tormented jester but I can see why this movie would have so many detractors. It goes out on a limb fairly often and takes chances with framing, music, characters, etc. The movie will focus on unexpected nuances and place them in an interesting light and it can be a bit weird. Even though it doesn't always nail it, the trying makes it an original and straight up hilarious flick.

I don't see why everyone is shitting all over this movie, it's frickn' hilarious. It has a great cast and balls out writing like Superbad and 40 Year Old Virgin. Jeremy Piven does what he does best; act like a complete dick, but somehow you end up on his side, rooting for him. The supporting cast is a veritable gold mine of comedic talent, with a few surprises thrown in the mix. James Brolin's relentless sexual advances toward David Keochner's character are peppered throughout the film, and just get more insanely funny than the one before. Ed Helms' boy band "Big Ups!", Rob Riggle as a 10 yr old boy with a pituitary problem, Charles Napier's grizzled and hateful veteran car salesman, and Ving Rames struggle to find true love through his countless escapades through 3-ways, 4-ways, 5-ways, Golden Showers, Silver Showers, and Platinum Showers, are just a few examples why you should see this movie. I can't wait for the DVD, gonna pick it up that night, for sho!

Funnier then I thought it would be. Don't look for any other reason to watch this other then laughing. There are so many characters with their own one-liners that you might not catch some because you're laughter will drown some out. You have to watch this a few times to catch every joke. I thought it was hilarious!!!! Having a normal conversation with a * all over you is hilarious ... the dj?!? "they will test you everyday" ... you have to watch it for yourself ... i missed a few jokes because i was laughing so hard ... i had to watch it twice to hear everything. Piven can sell water to a lake in this movie ... another quote from the movie, "if he pulls this of i'll eat my own p***y"!!!!! really? don't miss this one!

What a waste of acting talent. Great cast, horrible script and directing. This so-called comedy script had no comedic timing, no original story (you should watch Used Cars instead), and a re-tread of tiresome jokes and sophomoric humor that just never lands. What a waste.

I can only assume the people leaving low ratings and negative reviews don't have a sense of humour!
This is easily a 6 or a 7 in my opinion. I've seen it a few times and it always makes me laugh!
I'm not sure how people don't find it funny. Just the boy band/man band scenes alone crack me up. And there's plenty more where that came from.
Watch it and decide for yourself and don't let the negative reviews put you off. Especially if you enjoy Will Ferrell or Rob Riggle movies. That'll give you some idea of what you're getting into! :D

thejonnyFILM.com and their world famous "ticket advisories" recommends that you not spend more than $6.49 on your ticket to see The Goods. do you agree/disagree the argument continues at thejonnyFILM.com.
"the film is very hit or miss. simultaneously up and down. but without question you will laugh and you will laugh hard. the problem isn't in the number of laughs, it in the amount of jokes.
the film is worth seeing. support the hard R comedies when they arrive. sometimes for my friends and i, it isn't so much about finding a masterpiece so much as it's about finding a movie with some AMAZING quotability. The Goods is the later."

It is what it is. A really good slapstick comedy. Do not expect it to be a highly intelligent comedy. It's instead filled with really funny crude comedy lines which if you are into these types of comedies, you will really enjoy this one. Bonus if you have or work in the auto business.
