First of all, as a Malayalee, I got tired of hearing the 16-year production and weight loss story before even watching the movie. I felt like they overdid the marketing This movie had so much potential which was destroyed by the old movie-making style from Blessy. The 16-year journey they were bragging about was reflected very well in the movie by showing us the movie-making style from 16 years ago. I was completely disappointed by the direction, the edit, the soundtracks and the cast. Rahman and Pookutti did nothing to elevate this movie. Only highlight of this movie is the cinematography. Above 6 foot tall Prithvi was the baddest choice to be the protagonist who gets trapped in Middle East. The scenes of Pritvi landing and acting helpless felt very unbearable because of his body size. Fahadh, Basi, Asif, Shane etc, actors with small body size, would've been a better choice as the protagonist for this movies Pritvi fell on his knees in about 20+ shots which felt very lazy and repetitive. Dont get me started on the absolutely unwarranted scenes with Amala paul. So absolutely not worthy of Oscar, filled with Rayappans "uh uh uh" and falling on his knees. Blessy needs to get updated or quit. He is hurting his own legacy.

I have read the Aadujeevitham Novel. It was a marvelously epic experience for me. And because of that, I was worried if the movie would be on the level of the novel. And of course, first half of the movie was not up to the expectations, still great. But the second half!!! I felt like this is the greatest performance ever witnessed by a malayalam cinema, the greatest malayalam movie ever created. It was that beautiful! Really, an international stuff! Rajuettaa...your dedication!! Hope is a magic! And this film captures the essence of that 'periyon' ! Even as an athiest, I was greatly moved when I witnessed that 'periyon' in some of the humans. As there are devils living inside humans, there are gods in some humans too. The contrast depicted in this movie, just wow! Helping mentality is the real god and it resides in every human being! The direction, the transitions - Movie at its peak...! Once again, thank you Rajuettaaaaaa....thankyou blessy sir ! You have done it! You won.

The cinematography blew me away, but man the dialogue was a letdown. I cringed at how the music just didn't fit sometimes. It felt like they slapped a bunch of typical Bollywood elements onto what could've been a gripping survival story. I was so excited because I loved the book, but the movie left me feeling hollow. I couldn't connect with these characters emotionally at all. They butchered some of the best parts of the novel and stuffed it full of cheesy, drawn-out romance instead. What a missed opportunity! All the actors gave it their all -they shone despite the script's shortcomings. It's all about my personal experience of the movie, which may vary for each person. So, don't judge the movie without watching it.
