The movie has the feel of a cheap 1970s TV production, where the cast and there's about 5 main characters plus various Zombie extras are in a shelter, outside the are the zombies. The main character the little girl is the focus of the film. The movie starts of feeling cheap and tacky and continues this theme throughout, the actors are OK i suppose but i wanted to turn this movie off within the first 20 minutes i persevered and watched to the end mainly because there was nothing on TV to watch at the time i was watching this movie. The plot is pretty limited and indeed pretty underwhelming. All in all if you have nothing to do,your satellite TV is down and the only thing available is this movie then you would still be better looking at your living room wall.nothing to recommend this im afraid. All in all Poor.

I heard about this film & went to see it. When I saw it was a horror I was a bit surprised & more wanting to see it after viewing trailers, which I funnily enough can't remember seeing. To add more weirdness in, I had it typed down on my phone as the next film to watch. Either it wasn't that interesting or something else, I don't know. Anyway, the film is about a zombie apocalypse with the infected children in the military base & outsiders being named, "The Hungries", so the film is not too dissimilar to The Crazies (2010), only that film is miles better than this sadly. But yeah, there's this girl who is intelligent but still a Hungry & she & this group of doctors & military personnel go in search for a cure in Chernobyl style town with Hungries lurking about. The film was gory & bloody in areas & actually humorous in some weird ways. But the film felt dull & too gloomy a lot of the time. Furthermore, it felt dragged on in parts & a bit depressing. The description of the film alone stated that the girl & crew were looking for a so called "cure", & hey presto, they never found one & in fact didn't even seem to bother as the film neared & came to the end. I mean how? The film itself just was too dreary & dead. I wouldn't put it down entirely, bur really, it lacked in a few areas & was too gloomy & generally felt dead & floppy, like that of a dead fish with * all life in it! There were some good graphics here & there but it just didn't work enough to save it or make me give it a higher rating. 5/10 it was OK...

The atmosphere it builds, the eeriness of the children humming from the music score, how brilliantly orchestrated that opening scene or the entire first act was, are just everything you need to get excited on how things will unfold. When the actual plot kicks in, it somewhat follows the familiar zombie/outbreak movie tropes, with them wandering around this rubble. The second act does slow things down, since the zombie's dynamics here are pretty standard. But the subtext is what keeps it more interesting. The whole setup is basically a metaphor on how we treat the next generation: we get Gemma Arterton's character who finds hope on the young infected girl, Melanie, while everyone else fears on how she and her kind could threaten their existence. It's a complex dilemma that makes it tough to predict how everything would turn out. The greatest feat of the directions is how it keeps its scenarios quite disorienting, especially with its music score, increasing its disorientation. It's amazing. And the movie ends with probably one of the cleverest punchlines I've seen in film. This movie is basically the I Am Legend movie done right. This movie is based on a book and contradicting to what I said, the readers claim that the ending of this movie was mishandled. I dunno in what way, but it makes me more curious about reading it. For now, I think The Girl With All the Gifts is mindblowing. If Glenn Close fighting a zombie is not enough for you to see it, I dunno what will.
