Gabriel is a great story teller, with some interesting stories to tell. He's about as family friendly as a good comic can be and seems like a genuinely nice guy with a great air of optimism around him aswell as a talent for voices and sound effects. Since discovering his Netflix shows a couple of years ago, I've now seen half a dozen of his specials and I've found them all very funny. They're not edgey, or offensive. Theres little to no political humour, but honestly I don't miss it as its catered for by lots of other comics out there. What you do get is an honest and amusing evening from a talented comic who knows his audience and consistently gives them what they want. Ofcourse comedy is subjective and he won't be for everyone, but you won't know unless you try, so dive on in.

I really didn't find it funny except maybe once or twice... Although he shared a lot of his personal history. I gave him credit for basically breaking real but it wasn't stuff I wanted to laugh at. Course I don't laugh at a lot of stuff people find funny so I'm a tough audience I guess.
Up until the ending (which was actually pretty touching) I was gonna give it one or two stars but I gotta give them credit for being up there I guess. And he's pretty good at doing different accents and voices.

I'm not sure why Universal decided to title this 'The Fluffy Movie'. At first glance, some people might think this is a kids film, something the whole family can watch. Sure, it has superstar comedian Gabriel Iglesias on the front cover, which should entice people into finding out more, but this is not a narrative film.
This is Iglesias's most recent stand up special, and whether you know or have never heard of Gabriel Iglesias, you're in for a treat with 'The Fluffy Movie'. Iglesias has been around for a while now, playing comedy clubs and sold out theatres. He's been on the talk show circuit for years and even scored roles in Marlon Wayans's 'Haunted House 2' and 'Magic Mike'. He's a jack of all trades. But nothing can compare to his stand up and brilliant method of storytelling.
The special starts out with a brief narrative film that depicts Iglesias being born and growing up with his family. The main point arrives when he and his mother goto a video store, and he convinces his mother and the video store clerk to let him rent 'Eddie Murphy: Raw', which changed his life forever. This transitions into the present grownup Iglesias coming out on stage to a sold out crowd in San Francisco. While still a big man, Iglesias has lost a bunch of weight.
He looks good here, as he discusses his life to great comedic effect. Gabriel's method of story telling is very funny indeed. He takes some rather traumatic instances from his own life, stuff that might have not been funny when it happened, but looking back now, is quite funny, and tells some amazing stories that conjures up some big belly laughs. He talks about his weight loss, his travels to foreign countries, a trip to a weight loss clinic, and living life with his bratty and spoiled son. His timing is flawless and his delivery is perfect with each story and joke.
Where some comedians might discuss vague or general assumptions of the human race and the things we might do that are odd, Iglesias only pulls from his personal life, giving us a very intimate conversation with him. And each topic he bounces on is relatable and very funny. He wraps everything up with a nice, charming anecdote that leaves us satisfied and wanting more. And no, Iglesias is not a foul-mouthed comedian here. In fact, this special is rated PG-13, and while it may contain a little bit of cursing, parents shouldn't mind. 'The Fluffy Movie' is a solid and appealing comedy special for the whole family.

Why is he still popular? How do you build an entire act on other times you've performed... That's just lazy.
I couldn't even make it all the way through.

I loved this stand-up comedy special. I enjoyed the small intro with Gabriel's friends, about his parents hooking up, and fluffy's childhood..
I'm a great fan of Gabriel, and I love his comedy, just so many other people, and i have to say this is his best special so far. I loved his storytelling and all of his funny stories about traveling with martin, losing weight and getting healthier, his relationship with his step-son Frankie, talking about his dad who he hasn't seen for 30 years, and of course his impersonations.
Anyway if you are huge fan of fluffy, or if this is your first special you ever seen from him, it will not disappoint you. His awesome stories will make you laugh and cry. To the long time fans, there are some references from past specials or interviews, and you will love the intro. I don't want to spoil anything from the film, so i'm just going to say to go watch this film and laugh from fluffy's comedy.

I know that Gabriel Iglesias is a very hot comic right now, but I was still surprised that his latest stand-up performance came to the theaters and not to TV or direct to DVD. I didn't go see it in the theaters--mostly because I didn't see the point of watching a stand- up routine in a theater and such a thing could be seen about as well at home.
The film has a prologue with a kid who is supposed to be Gabriel at about age 8. It's kind of cute--but only makes up a few minutes of the film. The rest is his stand-up routine and he talks about a variety of topics such as his weight, his step-son and his relationship with his estranged father. A lot of it is very serious and not funny, though there are plenty of laughs as well. However, I really think his other performances I've seen were funnier--mostly because he told more stories and used more funny voices in those. Here, he's talking much more about life, family relations and being raised without father-- all topics which he jokes about a bit but also with a tough edge of seriousness. It's worth seeing and he is an immensely talented guy but not his best work.

OMG,I watched this with my husband and laughed so hard! Once again Fluffy hits a home run with his jokes. I like that he is not dirty, really does not use bad language yet can make you laugh so hard you sides hurt. He also looks great since he lost weight.
But Fluffy made this one very real by sharing a lot about his son and father. At points near the end I was almost in tears yet still laughing. Fluffy really made this one a major hit in our home since he really exposed his personal side of course in a funny but real way. I think it was a great comedy special! For any step parent out there you will know what I mean.

A superbly spun tail of deep a deep personal journey many people can relate to. If you are looking for a straight up comedy show then this is not for you. But if you want superb story telling which touches every age group then Fluffy is the man. His spins a tale like no one else on the stage today. He always ties bits of story back to other stories which are seemingly unrelated.
At times it can be quite heavy, as I said this is not a straight up comedy show. At other times it's immensely deep. He pushes and pulls the viewers the entire time wrapping you up in his life and his battles to be who he is today.
If you have a teenager, go see it. If you are a teenager, go see it. Parents take your teens, my daughter loved it.
