Ok, there are other reviews here that all say the exact same thing: it's not a bad movie that you should avoid, it is truly an annoying way of spending your time.
So, let's do this without spoiling anything: we all know that there are alligators in this one, but did you know the CGI used is the same one that brought Godzilla 1998? And not only that, but they used the exact same tactic, they shot the movie in the dark, they put some CGI rain, I'm not kidding, it is CGI rain, hoping that the reptiles will look slightly better. But they do not.
Also, after taking inspiration from Godzilla, they went even further back in time and picked Terminator 1984. It was decided that the gators can not be killed by conventional weapons, but, today's conventional weapons not those from 1984.
A little Assault on Precinct 13 1976 and there you have it, they got a movie for you. Truly, truly bad in all ways.
I gave it two stars because the star power here is not negligible.
Anyway here is a little piece of information that will save you a lot of time. After the first gator attack, where you will see nothing more than bad CGI and a roll over performed with fast forward which makes it look even more ridiculous, you will know that what awaits you is nothing but regret.
Cheers!

Don't bother investing your precious time in watching this movie. It falls far short of delivering an engaging cinematic experience. Rather than subjecting yourself to the disappointment it offers, I recommend exploring other survival-themed films that truly captivate the audience.
The creators of this film seem to have missed the mark entirely. It's astonishing how a project with so much potential could result in such a lackluster execution. From the storyline to the character development, every aspect of the movie feels rushed and poorly thought out.
In comparison to the myriad of exceptional survival films available, this one pales in comparison. The lack of authenticity in depicting the challenges faced by the characters further detracts from its credibility. While other survival movies immerse you in the struggle for survival, this movie merely grazes the surface without delving into the emotional depth that makes such films compelling.
The disappointment is only magnified when you consider the talented cast involved. Despite their best efforts, the poorly written dialogue and lack of character arcs hinder their ability to shine on screen. It's as if the actors themselves are left adrift in a sea of unconvincing plotlines and unimaginative scenes.
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect is the missed opportunity for genuine suspense and tension. A well-crafted survival movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, empathizing with the characters and fearing for their lives. This movie, on the other hand, fails to evoke any emotional investment, leaving you detached and uninterested.
In conclusion, I urge you to steer clear of this cinematic letdown. There are countless other survival films that expertly weave together intense storytelling, relatable characters, and gripping scenarios. This particular movie, unfortunately, offers none of those qualities and ultimately leaves you feeling as though you've wasted your time on a forgettable and uninspiring production.

Hurricane Gustavo is hitting Louisiana being billed as the second coming of Katrina. Many folks didn't learn the lessons of Katrina such as Clarence (John Garrett Mahlmeister) and Sommer (Devanny Pinn ) seeking shelter in the opening scene. They are not part of the story. They are just there to introduce 500 pound hungry gators. During the storm a prison transfer is somehow happening. Five prisoners are on a bus. They won't be able to reach their destination so they opt to do an overnight at the Lutree Sheriff;s Department lead by Sheriff Jo Newman (Nicky Whelan) and stunt double. One of the prisoners is cop killer Russel Cody (Casper Van Dien ) who comes across as a nice guy. In fact Russell didn't even know it when his comrades lead by Louis Mandylor try to bust him out of jail. Bullets fly but the gators also made it into the building and no one wants to fight in a "burning building."
Casper Van Dien had almost a minor role. His lines were boring. The guy making film references should have lived longer and made more film references. They attempted to do some light humor, but it felt out of place. Too Soon?
