This was a horrible time in Australian sport and there are thousands of Australians who should be ashamed of themselves. Goodes was a champion athlete who was victimised for defending himself and his culture. The downside of the film is that its nothing new to the story, its essentially an overview of what happened using footage already seen if you lived through it. Hopefully Goodes finds his way back to the sport in some capacity when he is ready but not because it will be good for the sport or for the fans but good for him.

Unfortunately harassment is ubiquitous, fat, short, Asian, European, black or white, German French, Scottish or Irish ... this is a story of one mans stance against harassment.

A shameful indictment of Australian society, culture, media and power mongers. This behaviour toward an astonishingly talented and brilliant AFL player should have been stopped by the powers that be and was not. It should never have occurred. The one outstanding light in this film was the incredibly decent and honourable behaviour of Adam Goodes.

Look in the mirror Australia. We don't deserve Adam Goodes. One of our top athletes brought down by his fellow nation in his final professional playing years. I don't even follow the AFL footy code but can respect what he has brought to the game, on and off the field. I stand with Adam Goodes.

This is a great look into our country and our shortcomings, our mistreatment of one of our great citizens. However the film is just a compilation of of archive footage, we're given no insight into the feelings, meaning or thought process to key people involved. I would say the Australian dream by Stan Grant Is a more thorough look into these events.

Embarrassed for the treatment of a great Australian, i wish had the courage speak up... Should be part of the education curriculum

The TV special shown in Australia, The Final Quarter, was a documentary developed by Australian filmmaker Ian Darling detailing the events surrounding the final playing years of champion AFL footballer Adam Goodes, during which opposing teams' supporters began booing him with increasing animosity. The movie attempts valiantly to avoid taking sides, instead showing various points of view presented by a range of commentators between 2013 - 2015, both supportive and critical. It is a good movie worthwhile seeing. A movie written by Stan Grant, The Australian Dream, which was released shortly afterwards, is also a good movie worthwhile seeing for a different perspective. However, as a review of both sides of a divisive issue, The Final Quarter is considerably shorter and manages to cover the main issue quite adequately and more succinctly.

Good on ya Goodsie for being brave enough to stand up for yourself and the Australian Indigenous community against bigotry and racism.
