The Exorcists

I saw this today coincidentally on Halloween. I was pleasantly surprised. I usually don't watch horror movies but this one was good. Not a bunch of gore like some others. It had story, suspense, and surprises. Doug Bradley really knocked it out of the park. All of the actors were great. Makes me want to see other good horror movies now. I'm glad that damn demon didn't end up killing EVERYONE in the movie. Geez! Remind me to never go into a mausoleum with a Quija board! I was actually inspired. I think this film was made with a limited budget and time and energy allocations and they did a really good job. It goes to show that you can be creative - where there's a will, there's a way.

I was really pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed this film. Acting and directing here was definitely people that cared to make something the best quality they could. I see so many lower budgeted films that just go paint by the numbers it's so refreshing to see one where a lot of love has gone into it. Doug Bradley is fantastic, Kayla Fields and Denice Duff just do such great work here and it was so much fun seeing Kate Hodge on screen. We get a score from Friday the 13th's Manfredini. The plot overall starts fairly basic with exorcists brought into a case of a possessed girl along with a doctor who is not a believer at first. Some cool twists that I didn't expect a king the way. I watched this movie when it had came out, and it was very boring, it was basically talking most of the movie and for the "horror" parts they weren't very long, it was just basically showing a demon inside of this girl, I do not recommend watching, but go ahead and watch it if you want to burn/waste your time, as I rated it 2/10 like I said it was very boring. It was only an hour and a half long, I'm just typing this part so I can submit the review, Don't watch this! - It is not scary except for in like maybe 1 part if that. Watch something different instead, trust me. If you don't trust me look at the other reviews, bye.

Guessing some youngsters will get a kick out of sharing this movie with their friends until someone's parents complain. A very little not sexy kissing, some tastefully presented violence and one instance of bad language when the senior (living) priest, in the fight of his life and under a lot of pressure refers to the demonic forces as a "crafty bugger". Not much budget, and not good enough so that discerning audiences will be at all times unmindful of this, but it gets better as it goes on. A couple of good locations (shot so that they appear like way more than they are), a bunch of actors, plot followed by more plot, some makeup and other effects and there you have it. After a while it becomes apparent that even semi-innocent bystanders are not safe from the supernatural terrors, and the violence escalates in the last half hour or so. How will this increasingly complex mystery of a plot resolve itself? Sometimes the adversary just kills everyone in these movies and things get resolved that way. The last ten or fifteen minutes are actually pretty dramatic and enjoyable. Won't tell.

The movie gave me a false hopes in the beginning I thought that i will see decent movie but the story was bad doesn't make sense so many plot holes a lot pf problems that I would have to write an essay about how bad is it no excuse to bad art if there's a zero I would give it to the movie let me tell you something I have no problem giving the new or amateur screenwriters a chance I understand what they go through but i have seen movies with less production hell I have seen youtube movies better than this one I don't recommend this nothing in the movie can save it everything was bad I hope all the best for the crew in the future but this one was awful I hope they learn from it.

With a 6 day shooting schedule ... yep, SIX days, I was totally impressed. Subtle believable effects and some twists we didn't expect. Doug Bradley evokes such compassion in every scene- the locations were cool and the score was definitly not a low budget score. I liked the campy humor and tongue and cheek humor I see in Jose's films. I realized what it was going into it and with 6 days and an ensemble cast, it had amazing production value. Huxley the possessed was a fantastic young actress and if they make another one I hope she gets to come back - the song at the credits I found out was written and performed by the actress JennaLynn from the film and I'd love to get a copy of it! Worth the 5bucks!

Hard to get through. Noticed this had positive reviews, assuming from the crew and family and friends because this wouldn't even be worth it if you got paid to watch it. I made this account just to say this. Another review mentions they only had 6 days to shoot, so I place blame on the director for lack of adequate time and attention to this film. Many scenes needed reshooting and the script needs revisions. The plot was easy to follow along with, and it did a great job of drawing you in from the hook. The hour following that, however, only leads to disappointment and wondering how much longer it has. Hopefully the director takes note, and adequately prepares for the next film to actually make something worthwhile.

Save your money! Wait till it's free and you have chores or a project to do in the background! Terrible acting! Ridiculous back story comes out quick and with no reasoning. Just when you think it's over and you can be done it's only 30 minutes in and then you keep getting a false hope every 5 minutes! You have no interest in the characters, no lead up and connections that make you even care! And then when you just wish you had your time and money back- seriously- it's a "what's happening" moment in multiple time frames, and then it's like they ran out of time and pulled the fire alarm!! Everyone out- it's over.
