The acting and script are so BAD I literally lasted 10-15 minutes before shutting it off.
It's literally unwatchable.
I've seriously seen better work from High School video projects, probably even Middle School.
I only tried to watch this because of the super high review score, especially for the horror genre, that rarely scores over a 4-5 here.
Someone involved in this joke of a movie must have made hundreds of fake accounts to pump up the score. Every real review on this page now agrees with me.
I mean, when I say the script is bad, you have no idea. It doesn't even make sense. Who talks like that? Who says things like that? I mean, it's utterly AWFUL. The reactions to situations that the "actors" make are so ridiculous, they're not even funny. They're so dumb, you can't even laugh at it. It's THAT bad.

Again with the paid reviews. The movie could have been watchable if the acting had been even b grade. But alas, the acting is so horrendous
It seemed like the actors kept forgetting their lines and all the unnatural pauses during the dialogue screams severely amateur. Its just not watchable. Scene after scene of them just standing around looking like their waiting for the director to cue them or a prompter to tell them their lines.
Why release a movie when its this bad?Why all the paid reviews?I swear the movie's budget was spent solely on the paid reviews.I couldn't bear to watch more than 30 minutes of this garbage.

The Emeryville Experiments certainly isn't a bad movie, it's just plagued by some terrible pacing that should not be surprise for a film with new actors and shoe string budget. The film does not make eerie people looking like freaks, which is a good thing, they really needed to be. the director uses sound design effectively to amply the tension instead of relying on blood and gore. The violence was contained per my personal taste, but it wasn't as bad as some others I've seen. The 82 minute run time was pretty short, but it fit this movie, any longer would've been a drag. The first time actors did a pretty good job with their roles. The action scenes were okay. The only complain I have is that the actual story took a while before starting. Act 2 and Act 3 do justice. Overall, the picture deserves 9/10. Descent popcorn movie for a Friday evening.

The only reason I watched the movie was because the Director claims to have shot this feature in 8 days and that peaked my curiosity. I was not disappointed. The story was okay. The doctor and Smith character are clearly seasoned players. Ethan and Christie characters were watchable. Rest were a dud! However, I have to admit that I was blown away but the number of locations across the scenes that were covered in 8 days! I counted at least 10 separate locations if not less. A few pitfalls - DP could have done a lot better job with lighting, Sound design had a lot of room for improvement. In the end, the fact that the flick was shot in 8 days, I am willing to forget all the holes. Great effort!

I wish I had looked at the user reviews before the high rating for this excuse for a movie, plot bad acting worse, continuity abysmal.
I cannot begin to understand how it got such a high rating on IMDb, avoid at all costs.
i had a look at the main actresses background and she seems to have done some decent stuff in her back catalogue, but you would think the rest of the motley crew had been dragged in off the street.
I just cannot believe I spent a good hour and a half watching this turkey, it seemed to get it's ideas from a mish-mash of horror movies but didn't know where to go with them, and ultimately failing in every respect. I would thoroughly recommend you watch anything but this movie, as this low budget horror, (and I use the term horror very loosely) takes the biscuit when it comes to watch-ability.

I thought that The Emerville Experiments was quite a good horror film. The film is about four friends who get into a car accident and come across a town called Emeryville, you can kind of decipher what begins happening. This turned out to be not too bad a horror film in the end 8/10. If you are into Indie films then this is definitely a movie for you. Also if you are into horror films then there are pieces that will stand out to you and create tension. I was impressed by the film and what the film makers were able to create with a smaller budget and short time frame for shooting. It's easy for films these days with 300 Million dollar budgets to just throw money at problems and make them go away (until people actually watch the film haha), but in my opinion it takes a true film maker to utilize what resources they have to make a film like this.

From what I gather from his interviews, Pritesh wanted to tell a compelling story in the vein of a studio flick in terms of technical details including VFX, colors, sound design to name a few. While he may have started with an ambitious plan of retaining talent and exploiting technology to attain that "studio" attributes, it is clear that an Indie film has a long way to go before it can replicate studio talent. It is not my intention to bash the film but to say that it completes with studio is a far stretch. The only reason I gave the film at 7 was for it's ambitions. It does have some qualities, and I appreciate the Indie effort that was given to the making of this film, I just think they could have pushed the ideas further.

Not sure why some would give 1/10 without watching the entire story.
Watched it last night and fell in love with the story. It separates itself from rest of the generic, formula based horror in several ways and that was very refreshing for a change. What makes it a pleasurable experience is simplicity of the story and clever execution.
Five young kids get lost stuck in middle of nowhere and end up in a mysterious town where people hold their stares. With daylight fading fast, they are offered a place to stay until mechanic arrives the following day. By the end of the night only one manages an escape.
Actors have all done a reasonable job and so has the director. This movie was shot in 8 days and that alone is a feat. Production values are a lot better than similar movies in this class. I would recommend this movie any day of the week and encourage audiences to watch it open mind. This is no "Evil Dead" or "The hills have eyes". It delivers the same emotional bang without the use of blood and gore.

Watched this movie last night with my husband and we both enjoyed the story. When we read the summary on IMDb we expected a totally different kind of horror genre. We were expecting something along the lines of "Wrong Turn" but were pleasantly surprised with this little Indie gem.
The basic premise is exactly what it says on Amazon. A survival game. But when you think about survival movies, hacking, blood, guts, gore are a few items that you expect out of a horror genre. However, this movie uses clever dialogues and sound design to provide the same level of entertainment.
Dr. Kowolski's character was well written and executed. Smith does justice to his role. Rest of the actors are average.
If you are expecting stunning visuals and a ton of large FX shots, you will be very disappointed. If you want to watch a small little Indie horror, you will not be disappointed! Go rent it on Amazon and put popcorn in microwave. Enjoy!
