This is probably the worst film I have ever had the misfortune to see. There is no discernible plot, the script might have been written by a twelve-year-old, and the acting is deplorable. Above all, it seems to have nothing to do with either Dylan or Caitlin Thomas. This film buys into all the clichés about the Thomas' life together, and gives those viewers unfamiliar with the facts a picture that bears as good as no resemblance to the truth. The pretentiousness of this film is nauseating; I can only assume that none of the actors or actresses had ever read anything of Dylan or Caitlin Thomas. had they bothered to do so, they might have spotted the misquoted lines of Thomas' poetry that are scattered throughout the 'dialogue' at the most inopportune moments. this picture is deplorable. Miss it.

To really enjoy this movie, I feel it's important to know that MOST, not all, of the events of this movie are real events. Dylan Thomas is a famous poet, most known for "Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night". The people are real people, however parts of their "relationships" are not known for sure. When I first watched this movie, I had no idea about any of this, I watched it a second time after researching some of it and it gave me a greater respect for the film. The actors in the movie were great, the script could've used some work though. I would suggest Googling the names Dylan Thomas and William Killick after seeing the moving. You can see some good articles about some of the real events that did happen and are shown or hinted at in the movie, but again I would do that AFTER you watch the movie or you will spoil some of the surprises for yourself. My god...i have not seen such an awful movie in a long...long time...saw it last night and wanted to leave after 20 minutes...keira knightley tries really really hard in this one, but she cant handle it..dropped her accent every once in a while and didn't have the charisma to fill the role...sienna millers acting gets you to a point where you start to ask yourself: Has she ever had acting lessons? judging by the edge of love shes never been to acting class, but should consider to go in the near future...they both look really pretty..maybe thats what they should focus on in their future career..if they can be actresses everybody can!

The love triangle is so toxic and bland, hopefully Cillian Murphy come back quite quickly from the war, because he is the only one with an interesting backstory. The other characters are just boring. Sienna Miller is a great actress but there is nothing to play for her or for Keira Knightley. Don't talk about Dylan, he is the most boring and unlikable character i ve ever seen. When I first saw the picture of the movie with Cillian Murphy and Keira knightley I was expecting an Atonement bis but not at all, Atonement is way better than this. Very disappointed.

I have a few quibbles with this film. I'll say that the scenes are exceptionally shot, Keira's Welsh accent is amazing, and so is her singing. But the film struck me as being pseudo-historical, more stylistic than mentally stimulating. It was also lacking likable characters. The last part is probably the most significant because the plot revolved around these self indulgent protagonists that rarely had anything meaningful to say, or memorable. This made Edge of Love hard to watch, but still entirely enjoyable. The amount of smoking in this movie was almost comical, but I suppose realistic given the time and circumstances. There was no real "plot" to the movie, though. We catch a glimpse of the slightly eccentric relationship between Keira and Sienna Miller, but never fully understand how they have formed a bit of a sisterhood. Character development was a bit sparse and undercooked for me. Overall, a movie that is certainly eye candy but still not 100% satisfying.

It was an OK movie and overall movie experience even though most of the story that dealt with relationship between Vera, Caitlyn, and Dylan was made up when it came to romantic feelings and the affair. In fact there isn't a shred of evidence (or even rumors) to support those claims at all. Even so the performances from Knightly, Murphy, and Miller were all excellent. Ironically though when watching the movie Murphy's "Killick" sounded more like a poet when he spoke compared to Rhy's "Thomas". Again this movie is an OK movie experience and I would recommend it to anyone who has nothing else to do and a few hours to waste.

This filmmakers tried to make this movie be everything I hoped it would be: a timeless classic about Dylan Thomas, the two women he loved, and their friendship together. For me, the film never took flight although the exquisite talent and beauty of Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller is well showcased. The best part of the film for me was being introduced to the song Careless Talk, sung by Beth Rowley, written by Angelo Badalamenti.

I was a bit apprehensive about watching this due to the average ratings. However, I actually thoroughly enjoyed this. Although the acting wasn't at its best for both Knightley and Miller--their performances still shone through. Keira Knightley plays the tube station singer Vera Phillips who had her 'first time' with welsh, Dylan Thomas when they were 15. Catlin, played by Sienna Miller, is the current wife of Dylan Thomas--surprisingly they become the best of friends. The Story unfolds...
