Boring... Boring... Boring...
I read a lot of critics before watching a movie...
OK, i can take slow movies but this one is really slow... And at the end??? Nothing... A BIG Nothing...
I don't understand how movies like this one get a rating of over 8 here on IMDb...
Do you have time to waste? Go for a walk... sleep earlier today... do something else... Think twice before you waste your time on this one...
That's all
My rating? A big ONE... (can't go lower...)

Wonderfully intertwined stories about a father-son and two mother-daughter couples and how fate (if not coincidence) makes them cross paths, find love and purpose, and how death can both take and give life. Charmingly played by all main characters and very sensibly directed. Great pictures and atmosphere of Istanbul and Turkey.

A well performed and aesthetically beautiful film. My concern was with the somewhat implausible plot threads, not being much of a fan of the "if only they'd been there a moment sooner, everything would've become elucidated..." type film. The plot moves too quickly at times, with far too many unlikely coincidences and with unnecessary prolepses at the start of the film, creating a certain amount of expectation that is for the most part pretty much unfulfilled. My overall feeling was that if this film had been made in Hollywood, no one would have been raving about it, and perhaps understandably so, as the excellent acting and the beautiful scenery certainly distinguish it as a cut above Hollywood. To be honest though, I'm not sure where all the rave reviews are coming from. It was enjoyable (if slow at times) and the cinematography was good, but overall I found it quite forgettable.

different places and cultures and emotions. and the freedom as the common axis. dramatic and subtle and bitter and honest. a film about the desire and duty and answers only as sketches. it is one of movies who becomes, scene by scene, a kind of mirror for the viewer. for the hypothesis and shadows and tension and the pieces of a drama who seems be so familiar. because it is not only a story about the search of a girl in the middle of a different world. but a definition of the contemporary society and its borders. so, a story about love and meets and the portraits of illusory happiness. useful. maybe, ass diagnosis.

There is lots of people who has the same life style in Turkey. It seems that this film is based on a true story. When I watched this film I was bit sad because this was the real face of life. Specially if you living in Turkey off course it's much more harder to live. There's lots of people who goes to Istanbul to find a job and earn good money to survive. But what happens next? They go through lots things which they didn't expected. Some of them starts selling drugs or become selling their bodies. As it happened that woman Kader in Germany. I liked this film.It was quite good.I would say if you wanna watch this film go a head.Probably you like it as well.

Nurgül is a versatile actress. She could have presented better act if her act had been elaborated by the director better in some scenes. Such as while she was desperately seeking to find a shelter to pass overnight on the streets. Her act shouldn't have been that much agile it should have been between agility and uneasiness. While she was sleeping in the class and kissing her friend, the camera perspective should be used in a catchy way. Her outside appearance might have been well-matched with the demands of the role. I think the director could have easily let her get the Cannes best actress award. On the other hand, the scenario deserves its award since it includes conveniently interconnected series of stories coming after one another keeping viewers attention vivid up to the end. The conclusion is linked to mainstream events as much fateful as it should be as it happens in the real life.

A very cleverly written and edited film that ties in the stories of different people, generations and nationalities, a lonely retired Turkish immigrant in Germany meets a prostitute from his home country which begins an interesting (to say the least) chain of events, I won't ruin it by giving away too much of the script but unintentional death plays a large part as does forgiveness, incredibly the characters don't realise how 'connected' they actually are throughout the film which is divided into three parts, the occasional 'flashback' moment adds rather than detracts from the pacing and the storyline holds your interest at all times, absolutely no filler moments or scenes in this one.
