The Donkey King

It is conceptual and very realistic movie for south asian countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal etc Politics and Voting systems are all ruled by Politicians. They operate and fund these election commissions. Ballets and Votings would never be perfect in those countries.

2018 and 2019 was the rise of Eastern animation cinema including The Donkey King from Pakistan that is actual in this years USA president election hype. You can see all their currency made into making this movie from animal fur and scales to the otherworld cities like an far East Zootopia. If you and your family loved Queen´s Corgi and Malaysian animated action movies watch this. Who knows which Eastern country will be cult on the net the West next year animation wise.

It was a funny movie and it gonna be a milestone in lollywood

The animation of the movie was extraordinary despite the low budget. Some people find it a political satire. Regards of all, the movie was a great effort and it was a fun for all ages.

Where to start? First, the characters. All poorly written, the Donkey MC is incompetent and unlikable, never grows. The villain, a Fox, is so hand-holding and breaks the fourth wall and talks to the audience for no reason (Fox, you are a bad guy, but not "Zach Morris" level of bad guy). The king and prince aren't that invested in the story and just go along here and there. The plot is convoluted starting from the Fox convincing the king to stepping down and rigging an election for the prince, and nominees for king are selected ala American Idol. Eventually there is a protest and revolution with the Donkey becoming King. Then things go wrong as the Donkey doesn't know what to do. Then citizens are disappearing. It turns out *gasp* the Fox was working with a HUMAN Circus Ringmaster in kidnapping the anthropomorphic citizens and the king and prince to sell them to the circus. (What?) Then a clunky chase scene ensues, with the Donkey saving the day. The king convinces the donkey to keep the crown, but the Donkey makes the King the Commander in Chief. Oh, what happened to the Ringmaster? I don't know, he was only around for five minutes. He didn't leave his lair, I guess. He only laughed and growled. That's it. The design is interesting, but it doesn't do any good when the animation is clunky. Please, criticism is required to teach these production teams what they got wrong and what can be done right next time. And I get that there's a grading curve because it's a first project for this Pakistani production team, and only the English dub is available, which made the movie messy in the first place. This was an ambitious start for the production team, but they should realize that they still have MILES to go against the rest of the world to be even considered a good studio, much less an excellent studio.

Do you know that this story from 2018 became true in 2019 in biggest country of Europe? Mr Zelensky is same The Donkey King, but unfortunate his is not such clever and fair and hi is in a middle of his story for beginning of 2020.

Overall a good animated movie, hopefully this will open doors for animated movies in Pakistan. Jan Rambo as Jan Mangu played his role beautifully.

One of classic addition in Pakistan Movie Industry.👌 Mr Jindani gave his best like his previous series Commander Safeguard.😮 What an artistic script.💜 Direction, Sound, Dialogues, Animations and Graphics were too good.👏 Script touched all aspects of democracy in a humorous way.👍 Who said this movie is for children? A good story for Adults too to understanding the power of democracy.😋 Thank You Geo Films for giving this beautiful masterpiece after decades. :) Note: There is absolutely no resemblance with Government or any other Political party.

Contrary to how this picture has been and is being projected "Fun for all ages", I found only adults understanding the political satire thrown at the viewers throughout the movie while most of the children seemed oblivious and consequently uninterested at what was happening. While the quality of animation was much improved as compared to previous Pakistani animated productions and so what the music, this movie comes out as just another attack on the new political government and while at it, the movie makers also question the current democratic system, role of media and of the hidden hand behind "elected" representatives. Overall, the movie wasn't what it was portrayed out to be and turned out to be a big disappointment.
