It's hard to remind myself that this is indeed a work in progress and that it's currently a short. I feel like there needs to be more. Yes, I'm well aware that there is more to come. I will agree with the major complaint that I've found about it. There is so tragically little character development that it's kind of hard to care what happens to these people. I don't require much, just a little something, this would be an appropriate time to insert the amazing Mr. Zdunich's incomparable artwork as had been done in RTGO to illustrate what wasn't filmed. The carnies are a blast though, I'd much prefer things to be centered around them rather than the victims. And that sums up the "cons" for me. Well aside from the ridiculous length I had to travel because they didn't come to MN (ahem for future reference lol). The music, while for me not quite up to the expectations I formed years ago while falling in love with RTGO, is still very fun. It's a shame they cut the best song out of the film and stuffed it away in the end credits, but at least it exists, it's placement isn't worth complaining about necessarily, merely worth noting. Watch the credits! Despite the lack of character development, the story is very fun, another wonderful original in a world where all the most clever minds in Hollywood can only come up with remakes and sequels. It makes me wonder what these people could do if they had the budget that a typical movie has. Maybe the world isn't ready for that awesomeness yet. The environment is stunning and deep, at times chaotic but not in an unappealing way. The only way to accurately describe it is "something of a carnival atmosphere, but a malicious one, like in hell" so I guess the title is appropriate haha! All in all, the film certainly doesn't disappoint. It's a shame that the tour is over, but this inevitably means that the DVD will be released soon, make sure you give it a try!

I went to the screening of this movie on their Devil's Carnival tour at the vegas show. Not only am I a huge fan already of Repo the Genetic Opera but the fact it had one of my idols Emilie Autumn starring in it I had to see it. It takes you through a dark and twisted but fun place to be. The music was excellent the acting superb and the cinematography gore-gous. I absolutely can't wait for episode 2! Also an excellent cast to back it up The Amazing Emilie Autumn as the painted doll, Paul Sorvino makes a cameo in it, Alexa Vega from Repo, Bill Mosely from devils rejects and Repo and many others especially the writer and star of repo as Grave Robber and The Devil's carnival as the devil himself Terrance Zdunich who in person is such an amazingly nice guy. Emilie also was so amazing to meet she is such a beautiful and real person with an amazing soul and very down to earth, and of course Alexa who is really sweet. They said they wanted to make movies fun again and as an experimental and amazing project i have to say Epic Success! I can't wait until the next project and all the money that comes from their merchandise and from the ticket and DVD sales go into making the next movies. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone to experience this magic world and story, now it's one of my all time favorite movies! I give it a 10 out of 10

This was one of the greatest movie experiences of my life. From start to finish, I was hooked. I've been a fan of TZ and Darren since Repo!, so there was no doubt in my mind I'd enjoy it. Even with all the hype I'd built for myself, I was still shocked by how great it was. Not to mention, bringing it on a road tour was such a fantastic idea. The whole experience of seeing it in a theater and meeting the creators made the movie what it was. I cannot wait for the DVD and the next part! Oh, and the cast was great. Especially someone as iconic as Sean Patrick Flanery in the main characters! Absolutely brilliant. Bravo!

I don't normally write these things. This film is very fun and the music alone is enough to move your imagination. You have to enjoy everything from the gritty feel of the carnival to the creepy Doll shop of God. It really pulls you in with a sense of wonder. This is one that nobody should miss. It is and will become a pop culture flick that sneaks into the mainstream society. The performances were amazing. You can never go wrong with the chaos formula that Terrance and Darren have sort of mastered. Emilie Autumn has a fun yet elegantly wicked performance. You can really believe the Ticket-Keeper is a real creature of the pits thanks to the performance of Dayton Callie. Briana Evigan and Sean Patrick Flanery, do astounding job with their characters. Miss this and you will be missing out on great music, story, and a little bit of lesson in morals.

I must say this as a stand alone piece was not as good as people are making it out to be. Visually speaking, it is very stunning. The make-up and the sets are nothing short of spectacular. The songs is another plus for this short. They lyrics, the presentation, and overall song structure was very well put together. This is where the positives end, because of the two reasons above I gave this movie a strong 5 of of 10. This short, in general, was a complete puff piece. Visually stunning, great songs but nothing with substance. There was absolutely no character development; when someone died or was tortured I had no reason to care. The acting seemed rushed and there was no room for letting any character blossom. If you were looking for more work like Repo! you won't get it here. When the girl was getting whipped she showed next to no reaction! I did love the whole "at the theater" experience that the director and actors were presenting. Before the show started they asked the audience to cheer and boo but you are thrust right into the story and at the end you are left confused for whom you were supposed to cheer for and to boo for. Plus another thumbs down; NO BLOOD! The great thing about his previous work in Repo! along with the great story and songs you got lots of great blood. In Devil's Carnival a girl get whipped and you see NO BLOOD! The only blood you see in this movie is when a girl gets a knife thrown at here. I had such high hopes for this short and with this disappointment I don't expect much from episode two. People that loved Repo! were blinded by their fondness of that movie and are just cheering whatever this guy does. I expected more because I KNOW he can do better. Prove me wrong with episode two.

The movie it amazing, the storyline is so creative! The music is awesome and fun, the cast and crew were amazing, I thought the characters were portrayed fabulously and fit so well with the songs. I don't think they could have picked a more perfect cast, the costumes, acting, singing, lyrics were all stunning. I probably sound like such a fan girl, but trust me I could rave on and on about how great The Devil's Carnival was. This movie/event really struck a chord with me. I loved the concept ideas when I first heard it announced and couldn't wait to see more of it, I instantly fell in love when I heard the soundtrack, listened to it on repeat for weeks and still do. I counted down the days until I could go see it. It almost becomes a part of you, you know? Its inspired me along with many others to create various fan art for it and even to explore our more darker sides. The experience was incredible, you have such a blast as you journey into the Carnival, I felt so at home with everyone, I loved seeing the fans costumes and dressing up myself, meeting fellow fans and new friends, getting to meet Terrance, Darren and Spooky (who all were SO nice and friendly and such a pleasure to meet and chat with)...it honestly was the best night of my life. Gah, long story short- Its absolutely amazing, its truly an event you cannot afford to miss! If you liked REPO! you'll most likely love The Devil's Carnival! I cant WAIT to see future episodes! <3 If you can GO SEE THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL! You will NOT regret it!
