I enjoyed this movie and the fact that it is split into chapters and all the characters tie together. Each chapter you learn a little more about them and it doesn't all make sense until the final and you get one of those "aha" moments and I liked that. I thought the ending was a little weird though, I thought it would have been more exciting, but it was just, OK well that's it then. Other than that I would say good watch. The characters are all interesting and you really get a feel for their lives in the short chapters, especially the wife and the sister, those two were very emotional. I really like the fact that you don't know what is going to happen at the end until it reaches the end, it is impossible to predict, unlike some other movies that are predictable.

I am very easy to please and this movie was just the worst. From other reviews you're led to think that something might happen in the end, but nope nothing does it was just a total waste of time and very predictable.

Like a puzzle, this movie is installed. It's not a puzzle about the form, it's a way of photographing life. It's a picture of life.
a film about the death of a girl, composed of five stories, five views (Stranger, sister, wife, mother, dead girl). everything is centered on a feminist perspective.
life, desire, suffering, pleasure, difficulty living and the unexpected end of the fate of an object he wanted and chose his own way of life. Pure coincidence forms the end.
I loved this movie, but I felt a glitch unless I could identify it. He was initially well and strangely able to attract, but gradually entered into an optical and mental routine.
But in general, a movie worth watching.

Heartbreaking movie, top notch performances from the entire cast, they made the story very real and hard to watch, by the end of the movie you ask yourself in what kind of world are we living in. Worth watching.

Had me on the edge of my seat that's for sure, suspense was crazy. I always feel bad for Brit Murphy every film she is in you could feel her pain, and it's mostly when she's wasted on dope. This movie is still in my head hours after watching and i like it because it could actually be a true story. I think that's why it's so scary because it's so realistic and they don't have to show much violence to capture that feeling. Definitely one overlooked movie for me , i put it off for so long and i'm glad i watched it.

...all the different points of view. I am surprised at the number of viewers who may have missed a key piece of the plot. Playwrights, screen writers, and directors sometimes have their characters lie in the story without revealing it to the audience. If you didn't like it at first, give it another spin on DVD. Hopefully Moncrieff will include a commentary track again which may point out a deep-seated flaw in one of the key players of this tragic tale. She sounds like a very generous film maker in that way, on par with Wim Wenders and his wonderful commentaries. She may discuss the jury duty angle and the creepy realism of these events. It's a strange world.

Since I'm a fan both of Toni Collette and Rose Byrne I had to watch this and I'm really glad I finally did. I had no idea what to expect off the film but it's certain that I did not expect or predict this at all. This film is ''extraordinary'' and I assure you I don't use that word a lot. It has a different kind of drama which I definitely fell in love with. I want to watch this movie again soon. It's great. Watch it.

Why people are so excited about this movie leaves me at a complete loss.
When you are watching a movie you want it to go somewhere but it's just dragging on en on en on in 5 plots that go absolutely nowhere. This movie is just a complete waste of time.
Why am i giving it 3 out of 10 then? well the filming and the acting is indeed as others say very good, it is just the "story" that goes nowhere and really makes you think at the end: why the hell did I spend 1 1/2 hour watching this movie.
You want to indulge yourself in complete misery, unhappiness en despair? Go watch this movie then and you wont be disappointed, you want to be entertained by a movie to forget your own slumber in life, stay far, far away from it.

The Dead Girl stars a lot of great actors in small roles from Josh Brolin to Piper Laurie, it's a great cast. The movie plays out in 5 different parts while being loosely connected. It doesn't all quite work but there is enough there to keep invested. The real kicker of the movie is Brittany Murphy playing 'The Dead Girl'. It's such a shame to watch this knowing what would become of Murphy just a couple of years later. The final shot of the movie showing Brittany Murphy's face full of optimism at the prospect of seeing her daughter while knowing she never will is quite haunting and 'You Are My Sunshine' playing over the credits, chilling.
