I was not a fan of Wes Anderson. "The Royal Tenenbaums" left me wondering if I had missed something. "Rushmore" was over-rated. I don't even know why I rented "The Darjeeling Limited." I LOVED "The Darjeeling Limited." I suppose I could analyze it, or try to break it down, but I'm not going to do that. It was too beautiful to dissect. You will most likely love it or hate it, and you will most likely find in it what you bring to it. I cannot say that this movie is for everyone but I can offer this one suggestion: One day, when you're bored, and you're sick of the typical Hollywood fare, rent "The Darjeeling Limited." Turn your cell phone off, and watch... And tell me what you think. GRADE: A

Sorry, I have never commented on a movie before but this one was just so bad I had to. Its one of those movies thats like mar mite, you either love it or hate it; its a Hollywood produced "art" movie that only appeals to those that want to believe they have "real" taste. Its very very poor but no doubt the "iGeneration" will lap it up. Whilst watching this movie over 50% of the paying audience left; I wish i was one of them, don't get me wrong there are some nice touches but seriously this was a waste of my time and money. Unless you love Andersons previous stuff just don't even bother. After viewing the trailer online I was hugely disappointed, this film did not deliver.

obviously we have come to expect quite a bit from director wes anderson after making zissu and royal Tannenbaum. I went to this movie yesterday and was throughly unsatisfied. disappointment was the only sense of a feeling i felt as i leaving the theater, which was nothing like my previous anderson movie visits. i fail to see anything that great about this film. what have people come to, just because he did something different, like he always has, does not give us the right to say this is a good film. Wes anderson should be held to the same standards that every other director in Hollywood is held to. this movie sucked in my opinion and i hope others will agree

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think it's because I have two brothers and so much of what happens between the three protagonists reminds me of the relationships I have with my siblings. Anyway, it not the funniest or most popular of WA's films, but it's right there between the spaces where it shines. The fantastic dialogue keeps you going and the music and locations are superb, transporting you to this incredible country and experiences. I have to watch this film every few months for it bring me so much joy every single time. Thank you Wes Anderson and co for this absolute gem of a film. Eternally grateful :)

I was really looking forward to see this movie. I saw the trailer and was ready for a real treat with Owen Wilson's comic character. It started out alright but never took off. This was an empty movie that leaves you empty, gives you nothing and leaves you wondering why the Hell this movie was made. Spiritual journey my ass. Nothing is spiritual about it. They are constantly smoking or getting high on both upper and downers. But that's to hide the fact that the movie has nothing to give. They are empty characters that are never fleshed out and the drugs don't add any dimension to it either. It just falls flat. I had high hopes for this movie and am deeply disappointed to have watched such a waste of resources on such great actors. The pretentious feeling of Life Aquatic is still there but this time no Bill Murray to save the day.

Yup, I mean it with the title. With the music going in the background and the colour palettes of each frame, this movie is going to cleanse you of any bad things going in your brain. Definitely recommend!

Flat Not much of anything except incongruent behavior, a flacid depiction of three lobotomized brothers in a journey of unknown purpose. Stingy Being filmed in India has no other purpose than giving a colorful background to a setup that could have very well come up from a traveling guide. Insipid Was this a comedy, a drama, a film-noir? None, few laughs and most of them when the three brothers curse of lose a poisonous snake. No depth for a drama, no edge for film-noir. If you find rewarding spending 1:30 hours watching glossy-mag spiritual journey kind of advice with three characters 90% of the film in a fake zonked-out state, this film will fill you with joy, curry style.

The Darjeeling Limited.....I tried to like it since I love the Tenenbaums and I liked Life Aquatic. However it felt pretentious and I'm not just trying to throw the word around. Three brothers doing silly rituals and meaningless things as if there was some meaning to it. The symbolism was ridiculous also. Lets just ditch our luggage as we get on the train. The only thing I liked about the movie was the camera work and the music but this movie had some shallow characters. I don't like being around people that do random things and then think they are deep for it. I think Wes Anderson is making movies like that: a lot of random stuff going on with no apparent reason for it.

A strange life exploration movie between three brothers who have a lot to fix in their lives and their relationships between another. It's a typical Wes Anderson movie, with a constant strange feeling, but at the same time everlasting warmth. We jusy create a bond with the three characters over the hour and a half. I almost ended up wanting to get to know more about them and their future.
