I bought The Cutter in a bargain bin at a place her called Rogers Video for 5$. Chuck has never been known for his acting ability, but I am a fan of his action movies,so I decided to give it a chance. 85% of the time, I was bored by the lack of action, there are barely any fights, the story isn't very interesting and even Chuck himself looked bored. You have two great legit Martial Artist's in Chuck Norris and Dainel Bernhardt, why not give the fans a special fight, instead of giving us the crap they did. I was just so disappointed in it all,how on earth could they screw that one up?. The story itself is routine and unimaginative,Diamonds??..We've seen this story too many times before and done better at that. Did Chuck need a decent paycheck that badly?..this sure looked like a paycheck film,I didn't see the point of this film being made what so ever. I really should stop watching all these DTV action films, but every once in a while you find a surprising gem in a batch, however The Cutler is definitely not one of them. If you wanna see some good Chuck films, perhaps you should go back to his glory days and start there. Performances. Chuck Norris looks asleep for the most part of the film. Why did he make this film,if he didn't care about it?. He looked so bored half the time, only showing up for a couple of fight scenes. The charisma is non existent, his dialog is awful..what happened Chuck?. Joanna Pacula is OK. She's pretty but not much else. Daniel Bernhardt is a well known martial artist, But he plays it much too over the top as the villain. He was wooden and his potentially classic showdown with Chuck is never delivered, what a shame. Bottom Line. The Cutter is yet, another terrible DTV Action film. No thrills,no excitement, boring dialog and amateurish acting. Not recommended unless you want to cure your insomnia. 3/10

"The Cutter" is an action movie starring everybody's favorite punchline: Chuck Norris. The movie should be a no-strings-attached action flick and because it doesn't succeed at that, I can't help but be let down by it. The plot: An old diamond cutter named Isaac (Bernie Kopell) gets kidnapped by Dirk (Daniel Bernhardt) and he is put in a cell to cut a centuries-old diamond. John Shepard (Norris) is the detective who has to save him. The problem with the movie is that it tries too hard. There's some dialogue and situations involving the holocaust that hurt the flow of the movie. It's distracting. The movie's heart is the right place though. Chuck Norris does a decent job with the material he's given, but basically he's coasting. What Norris does excel at is his "martial arts". I put that in quotes because we all know he's pretty lame, but when you see it, it's still kind of exciting. There are two good fights in the film: The one on the bus and the end fight. The only problem is that the action is cut too fast to see, but you can make out Norris and not a stunt double (most of the time). The movie in a nutshell: It's a 90 minute "Walker, Texas Ranger" episode with more explosions. For more insanity, please visit: comeuppancereviews.com

Where do i begin, well to tell you the truth i haven't gotta clue. Initially i thought it couldn't be that bad seeing as though Steve Seagal has made 15 movies in the last 4 years, but i was wrong "DEAD" wrong. The start of the film just was so uncoordinated while searching for the girl his fat enemy who mind you put up a huge fight by being chucks punching bag get's thrown out of a window only to hear Chucks reason for it. "I needed some air" who is Texas Ranger kidding. To cut the story short heaps of bad lines, the acting makes Batman and Robin look like a masterpiece this movie must have been mistaken for a new comedy movie cause it was joking. It was as painful as watching someone chainsaw my * off while watching a new Steven Seagal movie.

60ish Chuck Norris plays a retired cop and finder of abducted persons in this paint by numbers 1985 action flick which had the bad luck to have been made in 2005. Seriously, it was as if the creators were either blissfully or wilfully unaware that twenty years of cinema had passed under the bridge. Did somebody win an old Chuck Norris script in a storage locker auction and decide to shoot the thing? The generic looking vehicle chases and punch-ups would have been nothing special back in the days of Good Guys Wear Black, but coming in the wake of modern action opuses like The Matrix they seem downright anachronistic, like somebody starting a Nascar race in a Stutz Bearcat. Even the bad guys - an incognito Nazi war criminal and a black clad soldier of fortune seem badly dated. At least the producers had the good taste to give Chuck age-appropriate female friends (Joanna Pakula and Tracy Scoggins); watching younger actresses cozy up to sexagenarian Chuck would have been just too icky.

John Shepherd (Chuck Norris) is a private investigator with a heart of gold. One day, he runs across attempted kidnap victim Elizabeth Teller (Joanna Pacula). She and her uncle Issac (Bernie Kopell) are expert gem cutters. Dirk (Daniel Bernhardt) is a murderer and raided an archaeological dig in the Sinai desert. He stole the Breastplate of Aaron from the dig, and kidnaps Issac to do a specific cut on the gems in the breastplate. This is a pretty good movie if it was made in the late 80s. Chuck Norris, Joanna Pacula, Bernie Kopell, and Tracy Scoggins are great blast from the past. The action is explosive enough ... for the 80s. The fact is movie making has moved on. It's not like Chuck has gotten any better as an actor. He doesn't have the same moves as his younger self. This is no more than a relatively good B-movie.

This is Norris last movie , not counting his appearance in "The Expendables 2". What can I say ? It was a painful experience for me to watch this movie. Let's start with good things . Joanna Pacula after all those years is still sexy . There is one really good joke here – "Told you, he was the bad guy". The movie is short , not even full 1 and half hour. The story actually had potential for good movie. OK , now with the bad things . The director Bill Tannen directs it with obvious and annoying MTV-style. There are moments where the movie treats its audience as retarded idiots who can't remember simple facts , so we are forced to see some unnecessary flashbacks. The action scenes are badly placed . There is quit a lot of them in the first half and almost none in the second half of the movie. The movie deals with delicate subject as Holocaust in not very subtle way. There is lot of stupidity here . Chuck Norris only needs one pistol to defeat everybody. It doesn't matter that the opponents have Uzi or even better guns . He will kill them anyway. Also , what's with the bad guys beating Norris almost every time ? I like when action hero has difficulties , but this is just embarrassing. Anyway , this is a bad farewell to Norris . I give it 1/10.
